We've had two and still have one, after the older one ran away when we were moving several years ago.
I was never a cat fan, but then we happened to find this one scared to death underneath a trailer in our old church parking lot. After some convincing, my dad got him to come out from under the trailer, so we took him home. He was only 5 weeks old according to the vet. We named him Tigger. Feistiest cat I've ever seen, which made him a lot of fun.
Here's Tigger within the first few days of having him.
We had him from February 2010 all the way to August 2014, which is when he ran away during moving time. I think all the boxes and moving guys freaked him out so he ran and never came back.
Here are a few pics of him over the years.
Tigger was awesome. You know how cats have one person they really seem to like? That was my brother. He'd hiss at me all day long, wouldn't let me touch him or anything, but he'd go right to my brother and lay down next to him all day long or whatever. Cats are strange.
Then in April 2011, after having Tigger for a year and 2 months, we got another cat, Bear. We named him that because as a kitten, he would stand up on his hind legs and stick his front paws straight out, like a bear. It was really strange how Tigger reacted to the arrival of Bear. At first, he wouldn't be in the same room as him. Then, he would be in the same room for a while, then he'd hiss and run away. Eventually, he would slowly creep over to Bear, bop him on the head with his paw, hiss, and run away. Finally after about a week and a half he finally could stay in the same room, they could get as close as they wanted, neither would hiss, nor run away.
Here are some of Bear when we first got him.
It's strange how different he's changed to look over the years. He's 6 now, he still looks like a baby, but a different baby than he looked as a kitten. He's really short when he stands and he's long. Almost like a weenie dog but in a cat body. Here are a few more recent of him.
We like him a lot. He was really dull when Tigger was around, Tigger pushed him around a lot so I think he was scared to do much more than exist. Ever since Tigger ran away, he's sort of grown a personality. He still looks bored/dead all the time but that's sort of what makes him funny.
I'll tie it off with a few pictures of the two of them at our old house before Tigger ran away.
I'd really like to get a dog. I haven't had one since my old dog Zoe passed away in 2011, so I think getting another dog sometime would be fun. Here's a pic of Zoe for good measure. Border Collies are awesome, she was one of the best.
