I've always been a cat guy. I love cats, especially exotic looking ones.

We had two cats, one that disappeared and never came home. Since I've always wanted an Abyssinian cat, I decided to get one. We've been waiting for him to be ours for a year now, since the breeder who breeds them is quite popular.

Anyways, we took him home last night, he's only 8 weeks old. His name is Rudy, and he's a purebred Abyssinian!

Let's see your cats!

I'm an animal lover to the core, had cat's and dogs my entire life.
Our last cat lived to be 21 yrs of age.
I will say, you're cat is unique and exotic looking for sure, also looks content. Lol
No cat but a hilarious recently shaved border collie.

We've had two and still have one, after the older one ran away when we were moving several years ago.

I was never a cat fan, but then we happened to find this one scared to death underneath a trailer in our old church parking lot. After some convincing, my dad got him to come out from under the trailer, so we took him home. He was only 5 weeks old according to the vet. We named him Tigger. Feistiest cat I've ever seen, which made him a lot of fun.

Here's Tigger within the first few days of having him.

We had him from February 2010 all the way to August 2014, which is when he ran away during moving time. I think all the boxes and moving guys freaked him out so he ran and never came back.

Here are a few pics of him over the years.

Tigger was awesome. You know how cats have one person they really seem to like? That was my brother. He'd hiss at me all day long, wouldn't let me touch him or anything, but he'd go right to my brother and lay down next to him all day long or whatever. Cats are strange.

Then in April 2011, after having Tigger for a year and 2 months, we got another cat, Bear. We named him that because as a kitten, he would stand up on his hind legs and stick his front paws straight out, like a bear. It was really strange how Tigger reacted to the arrival of Bear. At first, he wouldn't be in the same room as him. Then, he would be in the same room for a while, then he'd hiss and run away. Eventually, he would slowly creep over to Bear, bop him on the head with his paw, hiss, and run away. Finally after about a week and a half he finally could stay in the same room, they could get as close as they wanted, neither would hiss, nor run away.

Here are some of Bear when we first got him.

It's strange how different he's changed to look over the years. He's 6 now, he still looks like a baby, but a different baby than he looked as a kitten. He's really short when he stands and he's long. Almost like a weenie dog but in a cat body. Here are a few more recent of him.

We like him a lot. He was really dull when Tigger was around, Tigger pushed him around a lot so I think he was scared to do much more than exist. Ever since Tigger ran away, he's sort of grown a personality. He still looks bored/dead all the time but that's sort of what makes him funny.

I'll tie it off with a few pictures of the two of them at our old house before Tigger ran away.

I'd really like to get a dog. I haven't had one since my old dog Zoe passed away in 2011, so I think getting another dog sometime would be fun. Here's a pic of Zoe for good measure. Border Collies are awesome, she was one of the best.

I've really never been a cat person, but when my wife and I got married the cat that her daughter left behind when she went off to college was part of the package. Over the 13 years I've really grown to love that cat. She has a great personality. I think she (Callie) has really grown to like me as well. She follows me around like a dog, talks to me all the time. She turned 19 last month and weights in at 16 lbs. Her favorite place on a cold day is in her bed by the fire.

The wife and I used to breed Siamese and I miss them since our last one passed 3 years ago. Amazing that a little Siamese would rule the roost over 2 Rotweilers but he did. They both had a great respect for his space.

We have had a big furry gray & black Maine Coon cat for 12-13 years now. I don't think it's a pure Maine Coon but it's close enough.

Good cat but she recently developed a nasty habit of banging on the bedroom door with her paws at 4am wanting in and wanting kitty treats. We finally started piling them up in the laundry room so she can find them and we later capitulated and started leaving the bedroom door open so she can come in and hop up to sleep on the bed. She finally learned to sleep on the wife's side instead of mine after I got tired of her paws working me over (kneading) as cats like to do lol. I guess she considers herself closer to me since it was me she first licked as a very young kitten when I found her at the local animal shelter.

Good cat, though our big black dog (looks like a Black Lab but is mixed) gets insanely jealous if the cat tries to sit in my lap when I'm watching TV lol.

My neighbor has a Maine Coon Cat (Peanut) big cat, and I have not been in this house long so I don't know them yet, but I was installing a new front door and while I was sitting on a stool installing the lockset it just walked into the living room and introduced himself to my 2 Rotties. Thank God they both were raised with a Siamese cat.

I hate 'em
HATE!!

That being said, my wife has one and we can tolerate each other. Don't tell anybody, but I don't mind giving her a scratch now and then.

He is adorable. We have 4 cats and two germanshepherds. Was never a cat guy until I married my cat wife and cats are awesome. I'm still more of a dog guy but love my cats. Only problem is 3 of them are Siamese and they are very noisy cats. Congrats on new addition. Will post pix nextime I'm on my desktop.

I didn't realize Siamese are noisy cats! They just walk around and meow all the time, or what?

They can scream when they want attention. They make the weirdest noises and sounds, almost human like. But they are very needy in general and will get your attention with their loud voices for sure . I know others who have them and their are the same way. I'm sure there are some that are quiet but they are known to be a very vocal breed.
I love the Abyssinians too but around here they are like a grand! I can put that into the jeep lol

Yes, they are incredibly expensive. I was on a waiting list for a year to get this one. I'm working on leash training him now so that he can go on walks with us. This breed is well known for playing fetch and walking on leashes.

That's funny about the Siamese cats, I had no idea. I can imagine that would get bothersome after a while.

I have a pure bred Maine Coon, his name is Murphy. I've always been more partial to cats than I have been to dogs. I like dogs, but cats suit my quiet personality better. Here's a picture of my Murphy, he's 12 years old.
