Cigarette lighter fuse?

Does anyone know the correct fuse Location for the cigarette lighter? Looked in the manual and it does not say which one it is.. looked under the glove compartment and the PDC under the hood and can’t see an indication of which one it is.. Thanks in advance..

There should be a diagram on your glovebox if you remove the strap from your glovebox.
I believe it's #18.

Ummm, put a fuse in #18 and lighter still does not work. What is the best way to access the back of the lighter so I can test to see if the wire is hot? I want to eliminate the cigarette lighter and put something in there to charge my phone. I like the deals that also shows the voltage. Where do I get one of those?

Does anyone know where these two wire clips hook up. I suspect that they have something to do with the AC which my Jeep does not have. Just wondering.. everything is working fine (other than cig lighter).

Take a look at #5 under the hood.

Those plugs are not related to the cig lighter. Most likely fog lamps or some other accessory.

Yep, those plugs look aftermarket.

Just saw a wonderful video on YouTube showing how to remove instrument bezel and have access to the cig lighter. Also found usb charger on line. Can’t wait to heat the garage up, crack a cold one and get started on this project. Going to go with the 2 usb outlet.

When I was messing around with my cig lighter, I was surprised to find it was ignition switched. Mine (1999) is #19, which according to the diagrams I have found is same as 1997.

My little girl here is a beautiful deep emerald green (soon to be repainted after body work) Does anyone know the correct color of the fender extensions? They seem to be a some kind of silver which looks nice with the paint. The fender extensions on the drivers side are very faded.

I’ve always traced wires back to see if they go into the main harness.

If they don’t, they’re probably aftermarket accessory wires and could be removed if you wanted.

If they’re coming from a factory harness, you’ll want to download the FSM from the sticky in the resources tab.

Get the FSM for your year and check the chapter on wiring. If you’re not familiar with how Mopar does their diagrams, it might take a little while, but you’ll get it.

Once you can look at the factory harness, color codes, plug junctions and such, you can pretty much trace any suspect connection out.

I ran a direct wire with inline fuse to the battery so I can charge devices with out vehicle running and can view battery level at all times

It's for optional lamp. It's always hot, the lamp had a gravity switch built into it. You can put a GM reel lamp in there.

I agree with that but this particular one has not interfered with my CB radio or my Bluetooth radio CD player combo
