Anyone have a Flowmaster 40 series exhaust?

This is exactly what I have. Flowmaster Hushpower 2
I really like the sound. The idle is very quiet, but in an old school muscle car way. If that makes sense.

I wish I knew about these when I had my S4 v6 twin turbo Audi. Love the sound of the muffler and only gets "angry" when you step on it. If you accelerate gradually under normal conditions it is very quiet, but with a "deep voice"

They use a laminar technology that apparently Flowmaster developed for the series. Really cool and compact.

According to their sound chart, the Flowmaster 60 is quieter than the 50 series delta flow. I've personally heard the 50 delta and the 70 series on 4.0L Jeeps and I think they have the best sound to interior volume ratio.

ANYONE who thinks a Flowmaster Delta 40 is too loud on a TJ must be up in age equal to Nancy Pelosi, Bernie Sanders or Joe Biden. Don't forget your "GET OFF MY LAWN" signs too. Was that too loud? Buy a stock muffler if you want a quiet sounding Jeep or turn your hearing aid down. Mystery solved.

Got a question for you, have you ridden in or had a TJ with a Flowmaster Super 40 vs a Delta 40?

My 78 CJ I had boxes and hammered Metallica/ACDC and a lot of others so I don't dislike loud (although my ears are getting trashed some, ha, getting older sucks).

I'm just getting a little worn on the Super 40 sound, and I've considered going stock, but curious if I can get a good deep sound without the roar and over done popping when coming down a hill. With this engine...just seems a little silly.

One simple solution can be to install a glass pack resonator after the Super 40. It will quiet things down without sacrificing flow

I believe it is. I've heard a 70 in person and it sounds just like a 40 or 50 series just quieter. They are the same basic design just a larger case.

On my 360 grand Wagoneer I was getting tired of having Midas replace Wagner mufflers every year or so, so I asked for something heavier duty that would last longer. They gave me a FlowMaster, which was unacceptably loud for my purposes, and rusted out just as quickly anyway.

Magnaflow is stainless. Its not 316 which is marine grade but you dont want that trust me. Nothing, nothing will last forever with fuel quality you get now. Nothing. C for instance a magnaflow will lat maybe 6 months. If its a race care. No heat cycles it just sits. Permanent solution? Hell, go outlaw and just run Zoomies like i use to on me jet boat but my hearing has sufferd since.

I like the sound of a built straight 6. Maybe it's because I've owned and ran around with so many 700+hp straight 6's. Sounds nothing like a hopped up 4, that's for sure. V8's sound the best for sure though.

The regular Flowmaster mufflers rust out quickly, particularly at the welds around the case and the welds holding the internal baffles in place. I've had 3 of them, and all of them ended up busting a baffle inside causing an interesting buzzing sound upon different throttle inputs.

They do make a stainless version of the muffler which is supposed to hold up better, although it's a bit more expensive. Magnaflow and Borla seem to hold up well.
