The muffler on my LJ is in shambles so I am in the market for a new one. I am deciding between three choices, 1. Walker quiet flow 2. Banks Monster 3. Flowmaster delta 40. I don't want a loud jeep or anything that drones like crazy so these are the only choices I am considering. I had a Banks Monster on a previous TJ and while it had a little drone at highway speeds I didn't mind it much and enjoyed the sound. It was a little bit on the louder side for me but I would get it again. I am reading on here that the flowmaster delta 40 is a good choice too for something deeper but not obnoxious. So if anyone has and videos of the delta 40 I would appreciate it.

I had the Delta 40 for some time. While I didn't mind it, my other half said she could hear the drone when driving in the Jeep. It got to the point with her that she would opt to not ride in the Jeep even on nice days. I decided to go back to a stock muffler.

Again, I didn't think it had a drone but... Happy wife, happy life.

I have Flowmaster 40's on my Mustang, and wouldn't want them on my Jeep. Might be ok, but kind of expensive if it's a mistake

It didn't make your line up, I'm enjoying a SS magnaflow on my jeep

I've had the Thrush welded, Banks monster, Flowmaster super 40 and now the delta flow 40. The Super 40 was loud and droned a lot. The Thrush got too loud for my taste after a month. The Banks had a deeper sound than the Flowmaster Delta Flow 40. My 40 has a deeper than stock sound with ZERO drone at any speed or rpms. I wouldn't buy any other muffler for a 4.0L now. If you want a quiet, stock sound, go with the Walker Quiet Flow. My friend has one and it's too quiet for my taste. No rumble at all.

my LJ had the banks monster when I bought it. Hated the drone, pulled it off before the end of the first week. Put on a walker quiet flow and it's perfect. I pretty much only hear it just off idle.

I know its hard to capture exhaust sound on video but could you attach a video of your TJ starting up? I can't find any videos online of the delta flow 40 on a 4.0..

I tried that once before and it didn't sound anything like it does in person. I think all the muffler clips sound like crap.

running the banks monster and i like the sound. i haven’t noticed any drone with or without the hardtop.
