Speaker pods for dash

Has anyone used these? They seem to be a great product that would really improve the sound of the dash speakers. Thinking of mating them with some good speakers, 6.5” speakers for the sound bar, an Alpine HU and the Alpine power pack to give a little more juice to the speakers.

I hadn't seen those before. Truthfully, I'd probably order a set, but how in the hell are these things $80? I'm very confused about that price.

On the other hand, they have 12 reviews, all positive!

These pods showed up on another forum a few months ago. I am very curious about them and will probably try them out sometime soon when life slows down a bit.

Yeah they are pricey but seems like they’d be great. I may be the test case.... They should improve my existing setup before the other additions. I was thinking somewhere around $40-$50 tops but they may have solved a big problem with these and folks don’t mind spending it.

I would guess they are far better. They should actually provide real sealed volume vs simulation that the baffles provide.

I have the baffles for my front speakers. They are better than nothing back there, but something tells be that a rigid sealed enclosure would sound much better.

Did a little more research on the pods and a guy that sounded knowledgeable said while they do solve the problem of separating the front of the speaker from the rear( which Is normally simulated by the car/truck door) the small volume of the enclosure is detrimental to the sound.

So basically some polyfill in the hole and more power to the speakers may be the best bet.

Just finished replacing my 13 year old speakers with the DB522's. What a difference! Before, I had the rear pods faded down to F7 to level the sound stage. Now, I am almost level at F1 on the fader control. Had to also readjust my EQ to balance it out now that I have so much more, crisp sound coming from the new speakers. Deck power runs these speakers quite well. I'm pleased with the sound so far. I used the foam baffles in the dash, and polyfill in the pods.

Reviving an older thread to see if there is any more feedback on these front speaker pods. The info on here is a little old, almost 3 years now since it was started.
Is anyone on here using them and if so, how are they? Are they worth the $80? It’s steep but if they’re worth it I’d get them but I also don’t want to waste $80 on something that’s just a slight improvement. I can probably get a slight improvement from the foam ones that are 10% of the price of these.

I couldn't tell you one way or the other. They were cheap, I punched a porthole in the back, and put them on when I installed the forum recommended Kickers. To my non-audiophile ears, the whole setup is wonderful. *shrug*
