Sad news

Glad no one was seriously hurt, and sorry about the TJ.

Hopefully, as was said before, you get enough in insurance to replace it. And I'd be looking to get ti from the ins. company. Even if you don't have a place, maybe someone you know, or someone on the forum could help with the storage till you can get what you want off it, and part it out to help recoup your loss.

Damn inattentive drivers!
It's at a tow yard right now and I'm gonna go there and take some parts off bumper head lights and such

Listen to these guys about the insurance haggling. My neighbor is a local lawyer. His wife's Lexus got in a fender bender. He started with $4500 and is know up to $9500. I think he is just toying with them at this point.

Bargaining chips!!!!! Show them all the receipts, hold their feet to the fire. Again tell them to find one as clean and with the same mods as yours for 9000. Trust me they don't want to drag it out or for you to get a lawyer involved. Claim all the medical bills too.

I feel for the OP. A friend of mine is a retired claims adjuster. He told me buying a vehicle worth $X and adding $Y in upgrades, doesn't make the vehicle worth $X+Y, unless you have a stated value policy.

glad you are all OK. I hope you grab another TJ. Resist the dark side of the JK or JL....

True to a degree, someone hit my dad and mom's mini van. Their first offer was something like 2500, but you couldn't find one in the shape theirs was in under 5000 they settled with them for 5500.

Go on Autotrader and find the 5 most expensive Jeep’s that match yours. Use that in your negotiation.
Because my Jeep has so much after market equipment, I have it insured for WAY more than the “Book” value. You pay more, but for us it is necessary. You can also sometimes get an “agreed value” policy on your custom vehicle.

Yes.

Especially here, the other party is at fault. Don't sign or cash the check until you get a reasonable offer.

You should get local market price.

They are lucky no one was hurt. They should also pick up a rental for you.

That sucks. I got t-boned at 50 mph in my lifted 03 on 35s. The wider stance prevented mine from rolling and the wide tires prevented any body damage. It broke just about everything else it could. Insurance fixed it perfect for $6,000. I had to sell it a month later for $13,500. All in all I made good money.
