I’ve been having problems with the jeep running rough and bouncing rpms while warming up after replacing the crank and cam shaft position sensors. Took it to a certified mechanic and they said it a problem with the distributor, so I figured I’d replace the whole thing.

I placed the crank to the 0 mark after cylinder 1 compression stroke and dropped the distributor in where it’s seems dead center of 1 on the cap.

Rough to start but went to drive it starts acting up at 2000 rpms and the flashing CEL pops up. Took it straight to autozone. Misfire in cylinders 1 and 4 and random misfires.

A little more information would HELP. What year? Engine? Transmission? Mileage?

What spark plugs are you running? Have you replaced spark plug wires? The distributor cap & rotor?

A duralast gold distributor is what I installed today.
The Factory service manuals provide a simple step by step procedure for distributor installation specific to your engine, I would go to the resource section and download the proper file and carefully review the process.
