Hey all! I am looking to see if anyone is running a Toyo MT in the flavor of 33x10.5x15. I am currently going back and forth between the Toyo and the KO2 in that size. Any pictures of this size tire on a TJ would be more than appreciated! Sadly the only vehicle I can find this exact tire on is a Toyota lol.

Thank you everyone in advance!

(The reason for the tire size choice is mainly due to have 7" wide rims that wouldn't suit a 12.5 width)

Toyo MT's suck in the mud. Sad, but true. Look at how the edge lugs taper. They taper to the outside of the tire. Mud just fills the voids and hangs out there.

Its becoming more and more difficult to find an answer lol. I understand with most feedback I should take it with a grain of salt, but with regards to toyo MT's people seem to have a strong opinion of love or hate (also 50% down the line at this point). Currently I am running KO1's and they have been very good to me. I am considering getting a set of KO2's but I have already learned the drawbacks of them using my current set. I've always wanted to try out a true mt tire so thats the main reason I was looking at the Toyos. Again the ko2's are like a fine beer, it gets the job done with a familiar flavor, but I also want to see what else is out there. StG58 can I ask you how long you used the tire for and how long ago?

I'm running KO2's and I'm very happy with them. I have no experience with any brand of MT but the guy that sold me on the KO2's told me he's got MTs that rendered his CJ useless in 1" of snow. He hates them and will be going to KO2's soon.

Thanks for the reply! Was the person who had the CJ running Toyo MT's? Just curious because I'm trying to find someone with a first hand account vs a generic MT review. I am currently running KO1's and love them. I am interested in trying an MT tire to create an opinion for myself, which being limited to the so little options 33x10.5x15 (KO2, KM2, Toyo MT, some other not so great options). The people who use BFG KO2's love em and for wrangler's there are plenty of photos & input, and for the Toyo MT they are more popular with other markets/vehicles and those people swear by them. I was just trying to get an idea of anyone who might be running that exact tire and relative size.

Here's a question that may help with the decision - are the Toyo MTs available in load range C in the 33 x 10.50/15 size? General consensus is that anything stiffer than that is too much for a TJ...unless the TJ is only going to be used off road, aired down.

I ran these on the JK Rubi I had a while back, they are Cooper Discoverer STT, which are very similar. I thought they were great.

33 x 12.50/17

I also ran 285/70-17 BFG KM2 on that JK, and they were pretty much identical to the Coopers.

Unfortunately Cooper Tires does not make any 33x10.5x15 tires or I would throw them in the mix.

Re-reading over what you just said I believe I may have misunderstood the reason for the comment, were you stating they were very similar to the Toyo MT? Glad to hear you had good feedback with those tires.

I have no experience with Toyos, but just looking at them, the Toyos & Coopers look very similar. I was stating that for an MT tire, I was happy with the Coopers, as well as the KM2. I was more concerned with tire noise, and neither tire was all that loud.

Thanks for clarifying. You ran the KM2? Did you have any issues with Cupping or wet traction?

To add to this thread, I did find on a sister forum a jeep running 255/85R16 Toyo M/T which is close enough to 33x10.5x15 and he seems to like them and gave me the pictures I was looking for. If anyone has a personal experience with the Toyo MT and wants to share I am all ears.

I've got about 75,000+ miles on two sets (6 tires per set) of 255/85R16's on the Toyo M/T's. I run them on the Suburban for use on dirt, gravel and basalt rocks. 6 tires to a set with two spares. They work well for those uses. They don't work so well in the slug slime over hard pack we get around here.

I do like them well enough that I bought two sets. When it gets snotty out now, I just take the TJ or the JK with the KO2'S.

Thank you! Interesting to think a KO2 would have better mud performance than a company's dedicated mud tire.
