Body Lift Removal Question

I purchased this with the body lift and I want to remove it.
I searched the forums for removal but only see where some are adding and is not addressing my issues.
Soooo, I know enough to shorten the fuel hose and I plan to remove the fan shroud.
My hope is I don't have to replace motor mounts and/or the linkage wasn't messed with. (I am thinking no as I have the commor shifting issues with 2nd & reverse) I tried to attach a picture of the motor mount to see if someone can tell me if it looks like it is raised a well.
These brackets on the front has me puzzled. I assume they need to be removed but they are welded to the frame rail.
Would someone post or send me a picture of one that is not lifted so I can see exactly how it needs to fit.

More pictures of the rest of the lift would be helpful. Your first picture appears to indicate a 3 inch or so body lift and those are never recommended here. The stock configuration for that grill support would not have the oblong metal loop there and the rubber bumper resting directly on the frame below. In the picture below there is an aftermarket sway bar installed but you can see the stock rubber bumper on the frame.

The shifting issues I hear of with a 1 inch BL come from the transfer case linkage not transmission shifter but maybe someone that has a 3 inch BL can discuss transmission shifting issues.

Also, you do not have a motor Mount lift. Those are factory mounts.

Thank you for the picture of the front w/o the bracket that I have. That should be easy to remove.
And if I don't have MM lifts is even better.
I attached a picture of my steering knuckle but it doesn't look modified to me.
The radiator looks to be lowered but that should also be an easy fix.

By the way, I was replacing the water pump and thermostat when I took these pictures so I guess I'll have to add to "What I did to my TJ today"

I’m also about to remove a 3” body lift. I might get to it this weekend. I think I’ve got everything covered except for any trans/transfer case linkages. I’ll post how it goes and maybe we can compare.
My front brackets are definitely not welded on like yours though.

edit: I also downloaded a random 3” body lift install manual, so I’m basically going to try and do it in reverse

Oh it had shifting issues.
I did remove the boot with the plastic frame to allow the gearshift more room.

Motor mounts look stock. Cut the brackets off, remove the radiator drop, determine what was done to lengthen the fuel tank tube, disconnect the TC linkage, remove any TC linkage drop and then remove body lift (11 pucks).

What does the TC linkage look like? Is it under the jeep or under the center console?

EDIT: I mean the drop portion in reference to the TC linkage.

Did I miss it? Are you going to remove to the whole body lift, back to stock? Or, are you going to go to 1 or 1-1/4 body lift?

Read the 3" BL installation instructions online and reverse/remove everything. RC and others have them on their sites.

I am wanting to remove the lift entirely.
I really think it's handling will be improved with the removal

Not sure if you've pulled yours off yet. I did mine last week. On my kit I had to remove the following: body spacers side, front & back, transfer case 4wd shifter drop bracket, steering shaft bracket and little square box riser thing, radiator drop brackets and had to cut the gas filler tube. If I remember right that was everything.

Also, one thing that took me forever to figure out. When you're reinstalling the 4wd shifter z bracket...put the transfer case in 4wd low...I couldn't get everything to line up without doing that. Oh, I also had to readjust the linkage so it would shift smoothly.

Yes, I did mine a couple of days ago.
Took me forever to figure out the steering but it did have a bracket that no one talked about.
The radiator was also lowered but that was easy.
Really happy to have the lift off.
Everything fits as it should

I'm wanting to remove a unknown 3 inch body lift on a newly purchased TJ also. What about bolts? Did you reuse the longer ones or get new. Happen to know the proper stock sizes? I was thinking of pulling out the 3 inch and replacing it with a JKS 1.25 body lift kit. I'm just starting to read about lifts and trying to figure out if a 1 inch body lift is a good thing or not. I know the 3 inch that previous owner.....some kid...is not adviced. The jeep came with nice 33's . It seems I could use the 33's with the 1.25 lift until I figure out what suspension changes I need to properly lift this jeep

If you get the JKS kit it will come with all the bolts you need.

if you pull out the 3” lift you’ll need to buy new bolts.

I forgot the sizes but you can download the Jeep parts list in the Resourse section. That’s how I found the oe bolts. You can get them at any good hardware store.

Avoid the JKS body lift. The reports around here are that they squish as you torque them down. The Savvy 1.25” are aluminum and preserve the rubber body mounts, dampening vibration. The Currie are the same design but 1”.

A small body lift is a great mod. It provides many benefits.
