Was looking under this tj I just bought because I was about swap out the fuel pump, I looked over and noticed this. Anyone have a clue what could have happened??
Was about to jack it up and seeAxle bearing toast? Jack it up and see if the wheel moves up and down.
you didnt have any grinding noises ?
I drove it home when I bought it and didn’t hear anything. Haven’t driven it since though since I’m doing some stuff to it. Just noticed it todayyou didnt have any grinding noises ?
Yeah I got a lot to repair lol, ended up trading a dirtbike that I had that I never roadLooks like you have some rust repair in your future as well, hope you didn't pay a lot for it. It doesn't look like it came from Florida
did you get the whole jeep or just the rear end ? pics ?Yeah I got a lot to repair lol, ended up trading a dirtbike that I had that I never road
Whole jeep, came with some bigger cross over steering, better fuel pump and a snorkel. Sittin on 35s with the 4.0 and 5 speeddid you get the whole jeep or just the rear end ? pics ?
I think I did okay lol, eventually I’ll put some 8.8 under herid say you did ok if you traded for a dirt bike !
Which likely means you have the 35 under there in which case the drum dislocation is probably being caused by the axle bearing eating into the bearing journal on the shaft. Generally that is caused by aftermarket shafts being too soft for bearing duty in that area.I think I did okay lol, eventually I’ll put some 8.8 under her
Almost no way it doesn't.Axle bearing toast? Jack it up and see if the wheel moves up and down.
I haven’t put the snorkel on yet, and I took that pic before I put the cross over steering onWhich likely means you have the 35 under there in which case the drum dislocation is probably being caused by the axle bearing eating into the bearing journal on the shaft. FYI- if that stinger equipped rig in the above pic is the one you listed the mods for, none of them are accurate unless you already took the snorkel off.
I suspect that steering was a mistake. That and what exactly is a "better" fuel pump?I haven’t put the snorkel on yet, and I took that pic before I put the cross over steering on
dont embarrass yourself by putting a stupid snorkel on that jeep !I haven’t put the snorkel on yet, and I took that pic before I put the cross over steering on
What's wrong with snorkels?dont embarrass yourself by putting a stupid snorkel on that jeep !
