Fabricated Bumpers

I’m thinking about fabricating some new bumpers as a way to save some money and get some experience with welding. I’m planning on keeping them pretty slim and low profile. I was hoping to get some ideas from some of y’all’s bumper builds and see if y’all have any tips or tricks to share. So let’s see some bumpers!

I haven’t seen any other threads like this on here but if there is one feel free to just share that link.

This is a swingout bumper with wings and recovery points and a Hitch that I made with my dad and I cut my front bumper aswell to include the fogs

Mine is half bought, half built. I added as many Savvy details as I could.

This guy did a pretty nice job of using the stock front bumper. I removed my Garvin front bumper in favor of a cut stock bumper and love the weight savings.

I really like your design. I can see part of the receiver on the other side of the rear crossmember. How did you do that?

If you have the ability to get plate CNC plasma cut, I can post my files here (if dxf file is supported)

Wide enough to cover an Antirock or swaylok.

That video is the one that gave me the idea to make my own! I am planning on doing something like that with my front to save some weight as well.

It also inspired me to get out the angle grinder. Ended up with a 9.1lb bumper. I started to make end caps but didn't want to unpack my welder. I just used some JB steel stick to fill in the holes before spray painting it. Eventually I'll switch it out with a Savvy.

Thanks the wrap arounds are fully boxed so they can actually take a hit and it didnt take a cnc just some grinders a multi proccess welder and basic tools

Be sure you have a SKILLED welder with you when you build your bumpers. That isn't the place to learn.
