I've never seen a photo of the windshield down taken from the view of the driver. It looks really weird to see your sun visor and rear view mirror on your hood. How does it drive like
That? Does the wind beat you up at higher speeds?
You wouldn't want to take it out on the freeway like that. Just imagine being on a bike with no helmet. Meant mostly for trail riding and hunting out of. You'd also want a cage addition to protect you since you lose what little you do have with the side bars and windshield frame.

I finished up the installation of a Jeep Air air conditioning system in my 2000 Sahara 4.0. Very happy with it so far.

Also its illegal in most states to operate any motor vehicle without DOT protection whether its from a visor or windshield on pavement

It's an awesome feeling with the windshield down, especially seeing people's faces as they drive by, lol. At higher speed the wind can get a bit rough but I slow it down so my face dose not take the abuse. I don't get on the expressway and my commute to work is 13 miles. I always have eye protection on and I make my passengers wear eye protection as well. If you ever get a chance to drop windshield give it a shot :beer-toast1:

Picked up a Smittybilt Beaver Step for it. It's used, but was less than half price of new.
Put 500 more miles on it today. Worked a full day, then jumped in the fully loaded jeep with two dogs and headed to the UP (upper peninsula) for a week. She performed flawlessly and was pretty comfortable. I did start to notice the lack of lumbar support about 7 hours into my drive tho.

That's a fact...I'm in Painsedale, left 90° weather in Grand Rapids for 50° weather here!
Installed the rear flares. I have to say, this Crown auto set is very nice. Perfect fit, no funky discoloration, and comes with all new hardware all for 109.00.
I also installed new, longer Rancho 5000x. After I installed a 1.25" spacer the ones I have became too short since I was a total of about 2.25". The ride became choppy and the up/down ratio was all outta whack, about 5.5 up and 2 down. I also installed a set of RE bumpstop extensions. They are 2" and fit perfectly as is after pulling the springs and cycling the suspension. Much better ride and no issue with shock damage.
And finally, cleaned her up. Hint of the day; do not work on your rig when it is caked in dry mud. That shit was everywhere

Thanks. Mostly driveway but, it does sit 5/8" rear high. With the kids in back and hitch rack on it sits just right.

Oh yea. Been taking the kids out for some mild stuff. They have a good time and crack up when it gets all twisted up or bushes come flinging in the sides
May head up to Loon Lake on Saturday to play around on the granite slabs.

Had to buy a new battery today...wouldn't start at the gas station.....lucky I got a jump start from the owner...Had a proper look at my flat battery and it was rated CCA350 no where near the CCA550 which is recommended....so pulled the old one out , gave the area a good clean and dropped in my new CCA 550. Starts allot quicker now.
