Most common 2-2.5" inch lift

Hey guys!

Which is the most common 2"-2.5" inch lift?

I know most in this forum suggest Rancho RS5000X shocks. (Those are the shocks I am going to run, after a lot of suggestions in this forum, although they are almost unknown in Greece)

What about springs? I am 99% going to run Old Man springs (due to local market availability). Which is the most common, best value for money springs in this price range?
 
I'd like to piggyback on this thread since I'm planning on doing a similar size lift with the ranchos. The suggested lift is the 2" OME springs (those tend to run closer to 2.5 inches right?), paired with the stock suspension sized RS5000X's? Or am I off here?

Yes! I am going to run the Ranchos RS55128 & RS55240 (which are the 0-2"), since many on this forum stated that they run long!

After reading everything I could on here. I re-read and re-read one more time. IMHO from all the sources on here is go with the OME 2.5” lift. That is what I am doing whenever it gets off backorder. Well I did order a few other items.

The amount of lift the 2" OME gives is determined by the weight of your Jeep. If you are super light with no aftermarket bumpers, a winch, and a giant spare, then you'll probably net closer to 2.5". If you are heavier, with all those items, then closer to 2". They make spacers, so if you are trying to get to 2.5" you can get the OME 10mm spacers or a 0.5" spacer for the front as that tends to be the end that is lower than the rear and people want to raise a bit more.

AS far as running the 0-2 or 2-4, they do run long, so if you are in the 2" range, I'd go with 0-2, but if they are in the 3" range, I'd go with 2-4". In between is a crapshoot.

My plan is for 31" tires, so I dont think I care very much for 2.5" over 2". right? I think I should use spacers only for the possible rake and not for additional height.

I am not really sure, if I should use the light or the hard duty springs though. Do they both give the same lift? or light gives 2" and hard 2.5"?

Unfortunately I've seen a lot of variation, but the combo I've seen that works most often for what you're describing is the 2933 front (heavy) and the 2941 rear (light). That's what I would do if I were in your shoes.

I'm building a rig very similar to yours right now, but for 32's, so I'll be going with the 2933 and 2942 (both heavy) and adding a spacer in the front to try to get 3" in the front and 2.25" in the rear.

* I should mention that I own a 4cylinder TJ, so maybe I should use 2932 front? since my engine is lighter?

Do you know the weight of the I6 vs the i4?

I believe the i6 is 515lbs. I would research the weight of the i4 before making a decision on the fronts.

EDIT:

Maybe the i4 is ~276lbs. If so, that's a significant weight difference, Double check me though.

Unfortunately I dont. If I come up with any results I will post it here.

Are you planning to use the 2-4 ranchos for this build, then? Curious because I may end up going down the 2933 and 2942 route as well

I am. I already have all this stuff from one build I'm moving to another, so I'll use the 2933 and a spacer to get 3" front, the 2942 in the rear, Rancho 55239 and 55241 (2-4"), a 1" MML, adjustable CA's, adjustable front trackbar, and a rear trackbar relocation bracket. I'll run 32's with this build.

Id recommend 2 " OME Heavy Duty springs f/r and add a Savvy 1.25 BL down the line so you can upgrade to 33s in the future if you plan to. If I were you id also consider a 1" MML to help with vibes if any, but also sets you up for a Tummy Tuck if you pair it with the body lift
