PRP seat advice

For those that have PRP seats. Any advise on fabrics or experience with the optional seat heaters. I have already read @Jerry Bransford advice to avoid the Piping.

But as far as seat belts. And possible fabrics in different areas and why. I like the Camo center fabric and Cordura black sides with Carbon fiber back. I am drawn to the seat heater option, but as a mechanic I know seat heaters fail after a few years. I can call PRP and see how easy they are to replace if failed.

But, again. If you have or have had these seats chime in! I'm interested in the PRP daily driver series. And potential 4 point belts.

I don't want a seat debate for other brands, just advice on the PRP's. Pro's con's ETC.

Take 3 months to build a pair of seats and then the day they are done you start harassing the customer to come and get them out of your shop? Harass is not used lightly or in an exaggerating manner.

No advice to give but want to follow along because PRP seats are also on my list. Just out of curiosity, what model/style are you looking at? I always end up with opal tweed in the middle and mocha suede on the bolsters

The Daily Driver High Back series. Camo center, with Black Cordura Sides, and carbon fiber black back. No piping.

So are they slow AF? And I'll assume it was you they were harassing to get them?

I didn’t buy PRP’s but I did get the seat heaters in the seats I bought. I wouldn’t buy seats without them.

Sometimes even in the summer it’s nice to have a little heat on your back.

I’ll also add, they were great to work with. They forgot to send the seat adapters but promptly remedied the issue.

Another thing, these seats are expensive. No matter which brand, find a good deal or wait for a sale.

Mine were bought on Black Friday with like 10% off and free shipping.

Understood. I like the PRP options. I'm ok paying to play and waiting. But I like to ask around first if possible. I like the mastercrafts also. Not as many options for building that I've seen yet.

How was your wait time/experience?

I got the seats roughly 8 weeks after ordering. I was told 8-10 so I was happy it was on the short end. They showed up in two large boxes on my porch undamaged. I was a bit annoyed FEDEX took 2 extra days to drop off the brackets but that wasn't PRP's fault since they shipped everything the same day.

I did however call PRP about 2 weeks in to ask to swap the material from vinyl to tweed. I was assured that it had been changed, clearly, it did not but I don't mind the vinyl and at the end of the day, they gave me exactly what I ordered.

I went vinyl for the back, then tweed for the seat and sides. I have a black jeep, I didn’t want vinyl as I didn’t want to roast my butt. He’s a pic of what I ordered. When I ordered they said 7 weeks out. Which was a week less then they were saying a week ago.

Yep, I was going to do PRP but Mastercraft had a better deal. Ideally you’d try them but I didn’t have that luxury so I bought the better deal.

I’ll have a better review after a week of wheeling, the factory seats weren’t cutting it last time

No problem, I’ll report back once I get them in about 2 months! I’m curious how the tweed will be to clean... thats my only concern with the tweed. Vinyl would be way easier, but I’ve sat on enough hot vinyl seats to not go that route.
