I just put the 5000x on mine, 4 inch lift and had RC shocks on it. The Ranchos are way better than what I had!!!! Smoother ride and all that. Are they the best, I think for their price point they are.

Thats it...for under $200 they deliver a decent ride. A good value in todays world is hard to find, at the same time I would like to see more proven direct fit options

The one guy who has posted his thoughts recently described what I would want in a shock. Soft on the little stuff and more control on the larger movements.

I, personally, don’t have any problem with Rancho shocks. Especially for this amount of money. They are a bit short though. I have to replace them with the longer ones.

I have the rs5000s on the front and rs9000 on the rear they ride better than the bilsteins I had but I find both still too harsh. I tried driving my Jeep with no rear shocks with Currie 4 inch springs and the ride was still quite harsh just a little bouncier.

I'm not a fan of mine either. I recently put 5100's in the front (with an almost 50/50) and they are actually more comfortable than I remember. At first I thought running different shocks front to back would feel off, but I've actually grown to like it. If your old shocks still fit with the new lift.

My old shocks were leaking, so they went in the garbage. That won't be an option.

Are they generally considered to have a stiffer compression valving or softer? Since my Jeep is so light my rear Ranchos have too stiff of compression - perfect rebound though.

Didn’t say anything about ride control with springs. Just saying it was bouncy without shocks. My rancho 9000s ride about the same on the lowest setting. As far as how hard the bumps feel.

Maybe you just got used to the stiff Bilstein shocks. Mine doesn't have those issues. I hear RC makes a really nice, stiff shock.

Not really...they're shit for more than just feel. The finish blows on them too. Even worse than Rancho white
