What did you do to your TJ today?

Since this is my first Jeep I didn't really have any plans on mods because I had no idea the amount of things you could do! This weekend all I did was swap out the dim blue lights in the instrument cluster for some nice crisp LED's. Nice to be able to see my gauges at night LOL. My waterproof cab cover arrived Saturday while I was at work, so yesterday I took my soft top off and off it will stay until it gets cold or we have a monsoon. I also put together the cargo carrier for my upcoming road trip.

Should have included some pix. While it was running decent before, the difference after was significant. Not sure what I’ll find this weekend when I flush the coolant 😳

Nice job. Now I have to check my IAC and TB to make sure it doesn't look like yours. ;) I only use Autolite iridium plugs, so they will last longer than my Jeep.

I wanted to "like" your post, but I didn't want my name associated with Joe Biden.;)

Been slowly progressing forward on my york compressor install. Need to find the correct length belt to order and pick up a new bolt then weld her into place. Went wheeling yesterday and everything else is working great.

Based on way too many hours on here I used the Autolite Iridiums too. And put some anti-seize on them. On the TB and IAC I took them apart to see condition which turned out to be a good idea. Going forward I’ll clean in place.

That HAS to make it run better. When I bought my 99' XJ, it got horrible gas mileage (even for a Jeep). It looked like the plugs and air filter had never been changed. Copper plugs were worn down flat and the filter box had more chewed up acorns in it than a nest of drunk squirrels. I wish I could buy it back now though. I spent a lot replacing everything neglected on it and lifting it. Sold it last year for $7500 to a 17 year old to buy back my Rubicon for $9,000. At the time I didn't have money to keep both. It was a "buy it back now in 3 days" or I might change my mind deal. It sat for 2 years in his garage and was driven 1200 miles on the street. I don't regret the choice. The XJ cost $3,000.

While I had the spare tire off I decided to clean up & repaint some minor surface rust on the spare tire carrier. You know ... that hidden little spot that NOBODY sees unless the spare tire is removed & then they don’t even notice it. I REALLY need help. 😆

Been there, done that
Me too, except I removed it from the Jeep so I could clean and wax behind.

Mine is a major restoration project, so it's not on the road yet to drive. I still have to order new driveshafts, from Tom Woods, so I can test out the addition of the 241 case and locked 44 rear. Up front, I've added the small lockout hub conversion. This should help to minimize vibrations.

What transfer case and driveshaft setup are you running on your setup?

LJ - 42rle - 231 - stock driveshaft. Only lift I'm running is the 1.25 BL & .75 coil spacers up front. I'm not getting any vibes when driving, only when at a stop.

When I get a chance I think I might play with the exhaust hangers a little more. The vibes were really bad before I adjusted the hanger on the cross-member. Maybe I need to tweak the rear most hangers some.

Drove it to the grocery today and saw a Bronco Sport in real life for the first time. This one was the Outer Banks Edition. I was not impressed at all. I would NEVER trade my TJ for one.
