Drilling out upper control arm bolt

Currie says I need to drill out the upper control arm bolt to 7/16. How does one get a drill in there with the exhaust in the way?

Edit: Astute posters as usual have pointed out I can come from the outside through a frame hole............ dope.

I just installed the exhaust last week lol. Looks like I might be dropping it which means dropping the skid again. Damnit.

If I were a redneck I would consider cutting the exhaust and putting it back together with a flat band clamp...I personally would not do this and wouldn't recommend it

If it were me, I would get out my .480 Ruger and shoot a hole through it.........
Or just drop your exhaust and drill it.

The upper one is a self taping bolt (or whatever its called) so the hole only comes from one side.

isn't the other side blocked by the frame rail? or something else? I don't have a tj to look at right now

Flag nut thats the name. Im just going to pull the exhaust. I needed to adjust it anyways. Not sure why Currie couldnt use factory size hardware but I am sure they have their reasons.

No frame is in the way.

It is a flag nut.
That's odd though, mine has a factory holes through the frame so I can access the back of the flag nut if I need to.
I don't have a Jeep in front of me now either, but I'm going to scope it out asap to make sure I'm not losing it.

Mine has a little pocket just outside the inner part of the frame that allows you to access the flag nut.

Right, but I swear mine has access holes through the frame. What year is your Jeep?
Obviously you're starring at yours and know you don't have the access holes, but now I'm dying to know if I'm misremembering or not.
