I went up in the world’s tallest building today. Here are some shots from the 148th floor (555.7 meters) and there are 52 more floors above where I was.

I think it would be amazing to be able to stand at the top on a clear enough day to see the curvature of the Earth.

Arizona's Rafael Fire from my house last night. It's maybe 20 miles north of us and mostly heading east toward Flagstaff. It was started from a lightning strike last Friday. I'm sad it's burning beautiful Ponderosa pine forests. They've completely closed Coconino and Kaibab National Forests and parts of Prescott NF to everyone.

Walking into work found what was later identified as a Luna moth. Thought it was a leaf at first. It's pretty big...about 6 inches across.
It's the Rafael Fire. There's another one south of us called the Backbone Fire but it's 30 miles away.
I have a couple friends that just left for the Rock Butte in the Prescot Forest on Sunday.

Yeah, I'm well versed in inciweb, I work for a few different contractors on fires. Running Water tenders, fuel trucks, or low boys hauling equipment. This will be my 5th year going out on wildland fires, once I am able to go out. Too many things to do this summer, I already had to pass up 2 call outs.
These covid friends of Governor Cuomo sat a row in front of me today on a flight from Istanbul to Ankara. The flight from Istanbul to Ankara is generally 99% Turks and 1% redneck (me), but today my Turkish friends had a good laugh at these 2 from the far east. I don't know what they are going to Ankara for, but if that PPE is an indicator of their level of weirdo-ness, it is going to be damn tough sledding for them here.
