Looking to put high quality mirrors on A-pillar widow area

I pull off the doors a lot, and also just got a set of full doors with no mirrors. I'm trying to find a set of mirrors to put right in front of where they go on the door. Like on the outside A pillar/window area. I see a mount for the 97-02 mirrors, but also see lots of complaints about those moving around and needing adjusted a lot. I found a mount for the 03-06 mirrors but it is giant sticks out forward. The only other options I see are the style of mirror I throw in my hinge when I take off the doors, and those are horrible. They are basically just there to keep me from getting a ticket. Anyone have any other solutions, or options of putting a "real" high quality mirror there?

Get the kind that mount with a quick release knob and use a bolt to torque it down. I have a standard set of Rugged Ridge mirrors and mount them this way and they never move. Since your full doors have no mirrors, you will never need to pull them off anyway.

Do you mean these kind?

Same sort of mirror I use now the thing is wavy, vibrates, and is basically impossible to use as an actual mirror. I love the stock 03-06 mirrors I have on my half doors. I just don't see a way to mount them up there. I even see a mount for the JK mirrors of the same style. Anyone happen to know if the brackets from JK would fit up there?

Yes to the first ones you posted with 3 notes. 1) Those are short arm versions and look sleeker but they may not be long enough for your to see out of on the passenger side. 2) You can also mount them a little higher using the two middle bolts on the windshield frame. The height makes them easier to see above the door sill. 3) You may need to add a convex mirror to get the field of view just right if you are picky but installing with a bolt locks them down.

Thanks! I'll look into them. I have a set that go in the door hinge now and are the same quality/style. They are basically unusable from how much they vibrate. I'll give those a try though!

Lol, I figured. I'm looking to have something that just stays on the Jeep as I switch or take off doors.

I run the OEM mirrors from the early TJs and a windshield mount bracket. They stay up there all year without and with out doors. The only down side is that you lose a bit of visibility from the passenger side with the hard doors on.

I had looked at that combo. I saw some complaints about them not staying in place. What has your experience been?

While at the Smokey Mountain Jeep Invasion, I saw these, I really like them but haven't pulled the trigger on buying them yet. Claims to be very stable!!!! Don't know how much the mirrors are.
