Mine was not.You guys running the Tuffy with seat spacers: Is your seat a fold and tumble?
at least you can read a map !?
That will depend on what type of mounts you're using. I have Mastercraft seats mounted on the factory bases. The Tuffy security drawer works just fine.does this work w/ after market seats?
Yes much better than a map, plus with a 9 you can always ask for F'ing directionsYou're the 2nd person to mention that, lol! Guess I better replace that map with the 9 so I quit getting shit for that stupid map.
Agree 100%. I still use a flip phone. If I'm traveling, I use a map. I have taken to making a road trip to Ohio every Fall to visit an old friend. I use a Rand McNally Road Atlas. Paper map, spiral bound.Fuck smartphones all the way to Hell. I'd rather navigate with a compass and sextant with a pirate map from the 1790s! As it is, I generally use a Garmin - but stop off at AAA for some paper maps on long trips as well.
I use a multi-pronged approach. I'll use Google maps at home on a computer with a nice LARGE display before I leave, to play with the routes, zoom in and out too look at details and the big picture as needed, etc. Then on the road I'll use a GPS but have paper maps with me as well so I can still see the big picture. A dedicated Garmin GPS costs less than one month's data service on a damn smartphone, its always in the car, there's no worries about batteries as its always hooked up, etc, etc. At nite, if I need to play with routes more for the next day, I can do that in my Hotel room with my laptop. Not as nice as my desktop at home, but still a fairly decent sized screen with a real keyboard and mouse.Agree 100%. I still use a flip phone. If I'm traveling, I use a map. I think those were the first two mods I did. From what I've read the seat risers might be an added bonus, I just didn't want to spend extra money to have the box.
I use Google maps in planning also. I plan the route, then divide it up into each days drive. I also use it to look at where a decent motel might be. I try to get mostly through a city so that I don't have to deal with their rush hour. The laptop helps in case of middle of travel route changes.I use a multi-pronged approach. GPS is great for finding xyzzy Fucktard street, not particularly necessary on a macro scale.I use Google maps in planning also. I plan the route, then divide it up into each days drive. I don't have a GPS, but so far I've been able to find Ohio without one.
Did you use the smaller Tuffy box?I have had the Tuffy installed for quite some time with the fold and tumble seats; the proper positioning of the box was a necessity when I installed mine...., but the function of the box works very well.
You never want your wife to know you have one of those -Good thing you keep that map locked up there, Bob. I hear those are highly valuable to the ever elusive map thieves.
Ha ha ! I have the Bestop, and no issues - has my 9mm S & W M and P in it right now.Yes much better than a map, plus with a 9 you can always ask for F'ing directions
