How do I raise the back of my LJ

My LJ has a tiny lift from the PO, but it sags in the rear.. I’d like to at least level it out. I’m not really into the aggressive wheeling so I’m okay with stock wheel travel. Suggestions? Is there a spacer that can be used back there? Thanks

Looking for car cover recommendations for my LJ

My LJ has a rear spare tire mount, and a winch bumper up front. The cover that I’m leaning towards is the Seal Skin covers. They’re guaranteed to fit perfectly on specific vehicles, but with the added accessories, I would think not. The reason for the car cover is that I plan to use a bikini...

Showing my ignorance again regarding diff cover

I couldn’t find any definitive answer as to what a good differential cover is supposed to do. I’m assuming that it’s stronger, and protects the gears when you smash your pumpkin on a rock(?) if they’re functional in that way, I’m sure there are good ones and bad. My question is in regards to...

Seized / galled skid plate bolt

I’m in the process of removing the (transfer case drop) spacer kit that someone installed before me… One of the bolts is spinning, but not backing out. Since I can’t see what’s happening with the threads, any suggestions? Is there a nut up inside of the frame? Thanks

How bad did I f@#k up?

I’d suggest some Aerospace 303 protectant. It’s good for the vinyl and the stitching, lot of protection from the UV exposure. Dont use ArmourAll!

Need help with suspension and lift parts

If you want to save som green, I’d think it might be cheaper to LOWER your suspension at least an inch. You shouldn’t need any adjustable control arms at that height (2.5- 3” of lift) Just replace your coils.

Anyone have experience with these bump stops?

I might be mistaken but I think I’ve read that these will likely cause some interference with the coil springs when they’re articulated. “Bump stop Spacers”, as opposed to “extended bump stops” don’t have an issues like that. The spacers mount at the base of the coil, whereas the extended bump...

Are these TJ or YJ half doors?

I’ve got an opportunity to get these half doors and the guy that has them doesn’t know what they fit. I’ve got an LJ, can someone tell if these will work without modifications? Thanks

Regular vs non ethanol (premium) fuel

Recently I was having a conversation about the pros and cons of different fuels. I’ve been running regular gas (ethanol added) but I’m not sure what the Jeep manual recommends. One thing about ethanol gas is that it makes your miles per gallon much worse. And it causes a noticeable loss of the...

    Bump stop conundrum

That definitely helps a lot. Thanks for the excellent reply. But just to show my ignorance about it, I’m still a bit confused b/c some people put the bump stop on the bottom, some put it on top. I don’t know if it’s going to matter, (or does it?) as long as the bump stop does what it’s supposed...

    Bump stop conundrum

#1 I’m getting closer to the point of installing the lift parts I’ve cherry picked for my 3” suspension lift. Seems like the bump stop is very important to get correct. Not enough bump stop and things clang together. Too little and the suspension travel is limited unnecessarily. Am I right so...

Ya had one little job, WTF?

Mr Blaine, I’m new around here, but this post makes me have the highest respect for you and your work ethic. When I was 19 I worked for a man who was just like that. For example he would fabricate a bracket that would be mounted under a vehicle (truck / heavy equipment), and would most likely...

    Bad gas mileage

Naw, that shouldn’t matter, he’s using the odometer (miles traveled) and the fuel receipt (gallons used) But I would think it would be much more accurate if you were to average the numbers out after several fill-ups. My dad (RIP) used to check his mileage after every fill-up. He was somewhat...
