Flush mounted tail lights

Lifetime warranty did it for me after watching their videos. I backed my corner straight into a tree to pivot off of and nothing happened to the light.
Their reason is entertaining as well, something about making sure you get it on video šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Going this route in "molded" (plastic) for $118 including relay instead of billet @ $258. Same guts.
https://metalcloak.com/tj-wrangler-rear-molded-led-kit.html1.75" shallower that OEM so pretty sure it will give me clearance for my RH gas can rack.

Speaking of the gas cans:
Got the steel cans from Harbor Freight. Went to fill for the first time and they have a wonderfully funky plastic 'filter' inserted in the can. It won't simply pull out so will have to cut it out. Interferes with filling at all but the slowest, by hand, speed at the pump. And, it will disallow the use of my new shaker gravity hose. No big deal, just inconvenient for now.
Grabbed 25 gal for my Honda generators.. you know why..:alien:
I'd love to hear your thoughs after you install these. I've been curious about them. I like the lower profile but not enough to spend the $ on the aluminum.

The shape on these just doesn't seem right. It's like my maxbilt lights, they're just not quite right for a TJ/LJ.

Details? Pics?
Sorry no pics and the Jeep was sold last year.
All I did was cut a hole big enough for the body of the light to fit through, cut off the screw ā€œnibsā€ on the back side of the housing and use the screws that held the lens in place to hold the entire assembly to the tub. You will need the run a ground wire from the light base to the body.

Hmm.. I thought the MC looked closer to OEM than any of the others. Doesn't really matter to me though since all this for me is to try and fit a second gas can rack.

There's a taper to them that throws me off. I'm not intending to say anyone's style preference is wrong, just to me the savvy is the best looking

Yeah, not about to buy them for $250. You're sure to hear from me when they're installed. MC called me within half hour of placing the order to let me know they'd be a week or two out. No big deal.

No plans for rock pivoting so should be fine. :D

They are pretty nice, I installed them tonight. The side light mounting is a little chincey and a PITA.

Yeah, guy on YouTube had some difficulty with the side light. Knowing that I'll be looking for a solution prior to busting stuff. Or maybe they've become aware of that and have resolved the issue.. I can hope.

At some point may look at this as an option. None of the flush mount after market lights are an option in the UK as we need an amber indicator (turn signal). Unless anyone has come across a version that has that?!?

Try this search if you can access YT on your side of the pond. Look at the 10:00 mark.

Sadly have never found anything LED to support the Euro market. I would convert to them if I did. I wish Quadratec would make what they sell but with 4 of the 16 LED dots be a row of amber. However 99% of Jeeps are not wired that way so it would be a project for everybody except Euro Jeeps, so I'm sure they'll never support it as it wouldn't be popular enough to make the option for.

Unfortunately that's the normal red combined stop/turn lamp as far as I can tell. The camera makes it look more amber but it's not. Unless I missed something but I went to that part of the video.

Really helpful, many thanks!
I'll have mine in hand in a week or two and will post up impressions after installation. Side light screws might be an issue but maybe molded plastic will be easier to work with than billet aluminum.

That would be really helpful. Interestingly the aluminium ones show amber turn signal, but it doesn't show it for the molded plastic ones as far as I can see on the website. But it would be odd if the actual LED unit was not the same for both, just with a different housing.
