What did you do to your TJ today?

The sound bar shape makes it lumpy looking but I am not used to soft tops so perhaps all the bowless look like that?
my safari top looks the same
Anyway took it for a drive with both door windows open and it doesn't flap much, a little bit more at 100kph but I can easily live with it.
Soft top props are available for ~$65usd each and some Bestop tops come with them. I bought some fiberglass boat cover props and brackets to make my own for ~$30usd each.

Easter weekend and I had to work half of it...drove it to work yesterday with the doors off and top down. I misjudged just how warm it was though :rolleyes:haha...looked like a sunny day outside (and it was) but the temp was just under 50 degrees with a chilly southerly wind and I was just in shorts and a hoodie haha.
Just a wee bit brisk up the leg of my shorts 🥶 lol.......still had a smile on my face though.

The easiest way to tell is place a jack under the pumpkin and watch for the slightest movement where the tube enters the pumpkin.
When I installed new 4340 shafts it appeared straight to me. But when I engage 4wd, the locker would pop when turning the wheel. Sometimes passenger side and sometimes driver. I'll put the jack under it tomorrow and let you know the results. I'm hoping it it tire pressure related. The driver tire loses 5-7 lbs per week. I hate to put in a new locker and have the same thing happen.

Put my Rampage bowless on today, took 3hours from box to on including removing Bikini and Tonneau cover plus a few sunrider bits from my door surrounds , no instructions whatsoever :( had to use utube for a few bits.
Surprised its not as fastback as I thought and these tops really are not made for jeeps with sound bars as the top looks lumpy at the sound bar.

Never try and put one of these tops on with the mesh sunshade still on! Took me at least an hour to get the centre tightening strap in the buckle under the mesh one handed blind lol

That looks great! So much better looking than a hard top. Now I might have to buy one.

Now do this. Keeps the sun off your head.

Various things this early morning.
1- Loosened up the TC lever and manage to reach “N”, but not 4L. Linkage is out of tweek and lever wont reach the 4L position on the TC case lever. Tried to adjust the linkage but the bolt turns hard and will not loosen up, thread is bad. Inside tub TC lever hits the end stop, TC lever not near the correct position for 2L, needs to go a good 10-15deg more. 4H engages too soon from “N”.
2- Opened up the engine bay to look at the Alt Belt, noticed a couple of non OEM wires around, and started removing them and ended up with a pile of wires all over the Jeep. See photo.
3- Spray Greased things all over and the TJ is looking much better.
Found the tank guard plate corroded badly, need R&R.
4- Air filter, not OEM is badly clogged, needs R&R. Need OEM housing not there.
5- The underbody is in good shape, front floors are bad but fixable easily.
6- Chassis has been repaired ( I knew ). Fixable if body is lifted, but now looks sturdy and 4x4 worthy.
7- I am very happy to see that this TJ is fixable to very good shape conditions, I made a good deal when I got it, no doubt, TJ is 100% original, no mods, other than one of the doors has a manual window mechanism installed, the other still electric ( Dont care doors to be sold ).
8- Radiator looks fairly new, will do the job for now.
9- Started lubbing all over the place so I can lower the windshield, the way I ride it all the time.
10- I AM HAPPY !!!!!!!

Replaced the front hard lines for the brakes. Waiting until I fix the frame up before I install the rear lines. Got everything bled and changed the oil to the 10w30 conventional high mileage oil that everyone has been raving about lol hoping it will dry up my weeping rear main seal. If not oh well, a little oil on the undercarriage keeps the rust off

Ran over this sh!t in front of my house. There goes a thousand dollars. My tires were bad and I needed new ones anyway but I was holding out as long as possible because i'm not ready for a lift and bigger tires yet so 30" BFG k02s it is I guess. $183/ea Coming from Cooper Discover AT3's

Looks like wire ties for tee posts. Anyone in your neighborhood doing any fencing?

Much to my disappointment, I removed the two piece exhaust manifold and down pipe and replaced it with the year (1998) appropriate exhaust header and down pipe. The down pipe was beat up and needed replacing. Both walker and Omix-Ada decided to stop manufacturing the 2000 down pipe without the mini cats and my local custom exhaust guy just retired this year. I didn't want to put in mini cats (too expensive) and i didn't need them so, I went back to the header. We'll see how long this lasts.

Replaced the tie rod today and by the looks of the diff cover… I had the inner seals replaced last week due to wet inside tire on passenger side.. not sure what kind of tie rod was on it but went with a Moog based on the ZJ conversion on the forum … the old one is lying on the ground
