What did you do to your TJ today?

How do you like it so far

Well I went to 4.56 with the 35’s, so back to stock, which is all I needed/wanted. So far I love it, I don’t have to downshift nearly as much! It is also far less “jerky” now, I’ll really be able to tell the difference after the 500 and can hit some of the interstate hills.

Finally! I can park back in my garage after about 1-1/2 months since the guy rammed into my garage. Though not complete and there is no garage door yet, I can atleast start leaving the doors and top off over night without worrying about these surprise showers.

What did you have before the 4.56?

I'm running 5.13 on the 35's I have on my TJ and like it a lot.

Thanks. I hope my luck starts getting better. My Rubicon battery went dead after I fixed a broken starter wire. It was fine for 2 days and then dead again. I just went outside to check it and all the gauge needles are jumping around and the key isn't even in it. No lights or any power to anything. I have no clue what's going on, but I hope I just need a new battery. It's 7 years old.

Wish you were closer. I've got a battery in the garage, less than two years old, that I won't need. The wife and I are headed to Culpeper on Sunday, if you can meet us, the battery is yours!

Poly bushings compress and the bolts cannot be torqued. IF you are interested; I have a transfer case drop kit available in the forums TJ Classifieds which I used steel fender washers so bolts can be torqued.
I leave Tuesday for Tenn. and I didn't have a chose . After I changed the springs I had a bad vibration , I just hope to hell this will get me there and back. I will take a wrench and check them often . I am doing a SYE and driveshaft so this is just a temp. fix . It takes time to get everything done I want to do to this jeep , with me working the days off are full , not to mention a honey do mixed in.
These pucks are hard as shit so I guess I'll see what kind of tightness I can get. They may not be ideal but I bet they will get me by.

You'll be perfectly fine and they won't compress after tightening them down. I used those years ago with no issues.

58 is bad and the one to Corvallis might even be worse. That whole middle corridor from bend/sisters to Salem/Eugene was a beautiful drive in the summer but sketchy in the winter.

Try hauling uncrated glass with Combined Transport in that area in the winter. Yes, I can haul a boat with a TJ to the boat ramp in the summer. Sorry @Jerry Bransford .

BTW @Jerry Bransford we can haul 50 tons more with less tires in Florida than we do in your old California. Enjoy your TJ's cant haul boats to the boat ramps mantra.

Well I see you got your sagging lintel fixed. On my drive to work each day I hear this commercial all the time from a company that fixes sagging lintel's . I have been temped to call them and ask if they could fix my wives sagging lintel .
Yeah she needs a lintel lift .

It's all hype. Nothing saves sagging lintel.🤣🤣

What's so funny ? I just got her car fixed from a tent blowing over on it , over 3,000 dollars . I couldn't handle something happening to her car again. The garage she parks her car in at the lake house is not as bad as the stupid photoshopped ad but there is some cracking and I think she needs her lintel fixed.

Door on her side , somethings going on with her lintel !

I know finding quality TJ parts in the U.S. is as easy as falling off a log ...but not out here :( so when I saw 2 BRAND NEW half door uppers for $200.00 I jumped on it.
I needed to replace my original (I think) passenger side window as it was toast.(full of rust and fraying material)
As a bonus the sellers (father and son) were awesome people, great 'Jeep type ' people if you know what I mean.
So first I wire brushed the frame and painted it.
Second I needed warmer weather to help stretch the material over the frame so I pinched my daughters hairdryer to heat up the canvas and it did the job :ROFLMAO:

TBM leaving those bolts that way is asking for trouble.
When I installed the transfercase drop kit for the same reason as SAWB; the torque rating for those bolts are 55 ft lbs.
I could not attain that torque setting; the poly bushings would continually compress and the most I could attain was 25 ft lbs and they slowly loosened over a couple days.
Once I replaced the poly bushings with a stack of fender washers of the same overall dimensions; I could torque the bolts to 55 ft lbs which would not change after multiple rechecks.
