Shocker.
Just think what would have happened if you mentioned your cold air intake!!
I agree- I was just razzing ya.Why? I trust him and it's no foreskin off my dick to just use RL or any other brand instead.
Interesting read. They couch pretty much all of their statements and openly state it's their opinion, not fact, but they obviously know a lot more about diffs and gears than I do.
The best thing I did with my NV3550 and My AX15 trans was the B&M shifter upgrade, made shifting so much better.I'm running MT90 as that is the GL4 75w90 recommended on Redline's website for my AX-15. Seems to shift pretty smoothly. I also have a B&M short shifter. 157k miles.
The only thing special about Royal Purple is its purple dye their marketing guy came up with. That purple tint they add doesn't last long.
I'll agree they are well marketed lol.My next-door neighbor manages a transmission shop, he disagrees and uses RP on his personal vehicles as well. You will read many stories, even in this thread from people who switched back to Royal Purple. They are a very high quality product and also well-marketed.
I’ve seen numerous rescues with royal purple. Good stuff.
Redline MT sucks
My Redline MT doesn't suck in my case it's just basically doing the same job as the factory oil was doing on my 6 speed! It did give me a first to second crunch that wasnt there before the oil change but thats gone now after around a year?
I would imagine Royal purple is a very good oil too but for some they are expecting something life changing to happen, most people would never contemplate changing gearbox oil unless they had a gearbox problem to start with.
Redline cost me $200 in Australia so there is no way I would swap for Royal Purple which is also very expensive in Australia.
Although, some people believe nothing works for anyone because it didnt work for them or they didn't really need anything to work for them so it's all gimmicks and marketing! same as engine oil and even "dare I say" higher than recommended oil viscosities on a worn engine lol
