Been considering going back to 33" tires lately

What type of brakes are you running on the 35's? If BMB big break kit, will you be glazing the pads with the larger kit by going down to 33's?

I was able to keep the 15” kit broken in fine on 31’s, 33’s ought to be just fine if he does have the BBK. It didn’t even really feel like overkill on 31’s. I know it was way more than capable of locking up the 31’s and 35’s for that matter, but it wasn’t ridiculous to drive or anything. I really liked that combo.

That's good to hear. I've got the 16" kit and have thought about moving back to 33's as well. I'm still running 4.56 gears and just don't have 5th gear anymore. But I don't want to give up my lift and already have SYE. The price of regearing, lockers, and a super 35 has really held me back from finishing my build.

I had 33s on my XJ and they looked huge....................until I parked next to the TJ with 35s. 🤔 I can't go back.

33's on an XJ do look huge! My first vehicle was an XJ and I remember immediately being a wide eyed 16 year old looking through catalogs and browsing the slow Internet and seeing that even the 6" lifts said 33's required trimming. lol Big difference these days when new trucks and Jeeps can fit 35-37s with little-to-no modifications!

I still miss that Jeep, but I had to sell it to buy my Rubicon back.

I've seen you post it somewhere else before and it's definitely a sweet XJ! I love my TJ, but XJ's will always hold a special place in my heart since it was my first vehicle. Same with S10 pickups! We had several growing up and I drove a ZR2 for a couple years that I loved!

I’m on 33s and think I want to go 35s. I’ll be doing tires soon and it’s one of those things that keep you going back and forth

Looks pretty nice the way it sits. Maybe a little more level?
Thanks, I have a 1.75in spacer up front and think it needs a little more. Probably go with 3.5in springs up front to hopefully get level and eliminate the spacer.

It's going to ride a little high with no spare tire and/or rear seat.

I like the look of 35’s but I have a hard enough time removing / replacing 33x12.50… thinking my next set will be 33x10.50’s…

I have 35's on my pickup and really want to go to 35s on the TJ. Currently have 33x10.5s and like the look of the skinnier tire on the TJ. Just know going into it that there are only a few options. I currently have the BFG AT's and they measure out at 31.5" and just look small for a 33. If I don't go 35's I think I'll go with the General X3's as they are reported to measure a true 33. Then, since most 35's will measure around 34" it wouldn't be as much of a difference. But again, far fewer options.

Yeah… I was just looking at 33x10.50’s and realized that there is not many option… I guess ill stick with the 12.50 width and renew my AAA membership…😆

Yeah but an XJ on 33s will out-wheel a new truck on 37s all day long.
