What did you do to your TJ today?

Thanks.... Labor of Love for sure...

It shows!! I plan to paint the frame and maybe Simple Green all the grease the U-joints have thrown on the tub over the years.....

You put my idea to shame and then just jump triumphantly on it!! It's gotta feel good being through it and able to look at the end product.

Fixed my burned out taillight bulb. I went ahead and replaced both sides.

Yeah, I think I have a transmission leak. And some oil as well.

The transmission rear output shaft seal will be getting replaced this weekend. I know that I need to remove the transfer case to do so. When I remove the transfer case, do I need to drain it first? Or can I remove it without transmission fluid spilling everywhere?

I drain the fluid in the transfer case first.

What paint did you use on the frame,I use flat because it seems like too glossy looks bad, that’s about the right compromise.

I painted first with Rust Bullet using a foam brush so not to leave brush streaks because Rust Bullet can be a real pain to apply. If you don't use the rust bullet, then I would apply a basic rustoleum primer. I then aerosol spray can coat it with Rustoleum Satin Black Protective Enamel. The Satin seems to be a good compromise between the flat and the semi-gloss. I have done the frame in sections over the past couple years and this method has held up well but the jeep is parked in the garage and I typically only drive it on pleasant days as I keep the soft top off.

Took a break from barn construction today cause I promised my neighbor I'd swap the brake pads on his truck...stared at my TJ all morning and decided I'd continue shirking my responsibilities and swap out Mr. B's test rope with the real deal. Done enough abusing ropes hoisting walls and dragging tractors and lifts out of the mud. Took Mr. B's advice and used a much steeper hill for pretensioning. And used a rusty washer to get 2k RPMs.

Not today, last weekend. I've been too busy to post. We explored an area of the Cohutta Wilderness last weekend. We found some awesome campsites. Also, on Friday afternoon I had a black bear drop out of the forest and cross the trail about 30 yards in front of my rig. Saturday I came around a corner and spooked a coyote. He was about 10 yards in front of me when he vanished into the woods. Then on Sunday as we were leaving I had three wild turkeys cross the road just in front of my bumper. I think I saw more wildlife in one weekend than I have in past three years. Go out there and see what you can find.

We have coyotes roaming our neiborhood eating stray dogs as we are just north of the Agua Frea River.
