LED's come on faster than incandescent. Somewhere I read at 60 MPH that split second gives the guy behind you about 26.4 more feet to stop. These pictured here appear to be low profile and aluminum.

Yup, didn’t take long for me to destroy mine backing up into a tree.A good reason to choose Blaine's style of lights would be for clearance offroad. Many people smack the stock lights on rocks, trees, etc and destroy them immediately. The low profile mitigates that significantly.
