ARB bumper vs stock bumper weight

Don't bumper shame. It isn't a good look, the same way the ARB bumper isn't a good look.

I would never dream of it

I’m not a fan of the bumper, but i’m not going to go out of my way to be critical of one’s taste.

And I’ve been around long enough to remember this… we all start somewhere

The high lift is a nice touch

That was an awful bumper on multiple fronts. Everyone should criticize it. Including you.

Hahahaha… agreed. But the why is more important then just calling it enormous and ugly.

We have gotten here from years of experience and mistakes… share that information.

Does mocking ever work?

Maybe give the why and how first

Going back to the very start, the OP has some interest in not wanting too heavy of a bumper at the same time he is entertaining the idea of buying one of the heaviest bumpers ever available for the TJ. That all by itself is worthy of making fun of, which also addresses the "why" at the same time. It was quite efficient.

Agreed. I feel like I have a heavy bumper at 56lbs…. But if this bumper truly weighs in the range of 150lbs that’s next level heavy.

One could use the term enormous freely.

I’ll bow out gracefully now🤪

Does mocking ever work?

Yes, as a general proposition it has worked wonders throughout the ages, for example witness how the social outlawing of mockery has given us wonderful social contagions like the body positivity movement which has yielded legions of 500lb people that believe their lifestyle and weight is not only beautiful but healthy. It’s neither, we all know it, but too many people are willing to tiptoe around & pretend otherwise for no other reason than to be nice.

Toughen up guy, the world is no place to walk around with such thin skin, ever ready to be offended yourself, on behalf of others, or worse, on behalf of a hunk of metal.

Hahaha! Okay! That’s a retarded example!

Fell back asleep and returned to this goodness ….if she(TJ) likes stubbies or enormous…seems like there is a joke in there somewhere🤔

Maybe more coffee it might come to me later….

But if this we’re 150lbs I have no need for that Barbie on front…but if I make those cuts I think this bumper slims up and mounts higher closing that fender gap- which would be my preference….

Back to the original question if I used this winch plate below (which Is the style I would buy) with stock bumper what is the actual, not hypothetical weight, difference. If the guy responds I might go take a closer look.

Do you know the weight of the winch plate? The stock bumper I would say weighs less than 10lbs easily.

Just read this whole thread and a little confused with the OP.
Please correct me if I am missing something.
You post a picture of the bumper you want to buy and ask all these questions about weight.
Then you post pictures of your jeep with and with out the bumper. If you already have it cant you just figure out the weight stuff yourself?
Is the Grey jeep yours? I am just assumed it is because the plates are Idaho and your location shows Idaho.

Just happens Seller has the same color Jeep ,I posted a picture he shared(on FB) to show that fender gap when he mounted it up, have not heard from him yet…

Ahh ok after I posted this I was going to edit it and say those must be the market place photos.
Once you hear from him if he is not too far away, could just go by with a scale and weight it?
I know those ARB's are super heavy, I helped installed one on an exterra years ago and it was close to 170-200 lbs.
I feel like that is there niche these big massive heavy bumpers that yeah look cool on bigger trucks but not maybe as useful on TJ's where weight is a factor.
