Hi All,

I recently installed a "full" centre console into my TJ. However have got 3 problems

1 - This section is uncovered. I don't have a airbag switch and can't seem to find any available replacement parts for it. Does anyone either know what i can search for on Ebay/Ali Express etc or has something they can mock up to be 3D printed?

2 - I'm not sure if the centre console is slightly twisted, but the top plate around the shifter fits perfectly into place as it did on my old half console, however when i change gear, it pops out, as if something is twisting. There's no screws at that end of the console to hold it into place. If i click it back into place in any of the gear positions it stays in place, until i change gear again and then it pops out.
Any ideas on fixing this properly?

3 - When the lights are on, i can see the small bulb under the shift which i imagine is supposed to illuminate the shift positions. However when the plate is in place, absolutely no light comes through. What's the purpose of the bulb if not to provide backlighting?

EDIT - Yes the whole things needs a proper clean. It's on my list to take the whole dash out and clean/spray when i've got more time/space.

Cheers
Martyn

The bulb should be mounted in the holder on the back side.

I made one out of kydex for mine and have been running it for a couple of months.

It does the job just fine, but I'm working on having a couple of different options 3d printed for me to see what i like best.

That tent housing I showed would screw right to that. You'd be able to see the volt meter extremely well as well as access your power ports.

I have the template to 3D print that cover piece.
I don't have a printer so I send it off to my local library. They charge like $4 to print it.

That's brilliant. Could you send it me?

Cheers, might pester the poster to re-design it without the cutouts.

This is what I put together for mine. You have an automatic transmission as well. Could be a fun project for you.
I used a console airbag insert, an angled gauge ring, various tools to cut and shape the insert and some epoxy…

Then pick your temp gauge of choice…

Custom 3D Printing.
I provided all the accessories and layout instructions. They did the rest

Did you cover the factory switches and cigarette lighter? Like does it just cover them or did you have to cut out the factory console?
Are you willing to share the designs?

I copied someone else’s design and tweaked it to my accessories.

The stock panel is removed and replaced by this one.

They will make anything you want and are willing to pay for.

I’ll get their info when I get home.

If I had an empty space there, I would probably get a sheet of Kydex from Tandy Leather, cut it to fit, and mount one of THESE on it.:

I have an extra face plate kind of like this one ^ that I am not using if anyone needs it.
Absolutely. Just rotate them 180 degrees! ;)

And I had this ^^ installed in the lower center console with a small LED clock and it broke the first time I attempted to remove the crimp connectors.
I replaced it with this...

I have a single pod with a voltmeter mounted low, and a better digital clock. I tried the round clock, but it's a bitch to set. This one has a battery in it to remember the time.

Awesome, i can now see what i'm doing in the dark. Thanks a lot!

Need to play with getting the sliding thing set right when putting the plate back in as the tab on the left in your pic keeps catching. Is there a specific gear position i should have the shifter in when removing/refitting?
