Colorado Krew Hangout

Okay then, I DO know what it is.
Just drove the TJ down 24 through Woodland Park on NYE to do some snow wheeling around the Balanced Rock side of Rampart.

Since for some reason they close the Garden of Gods side in the winter?
Still not quite sure I understand that.

Trying to keep the winter tourists from going up it!

Yep, leaving next Friday. Cheston and I are going to try to help out Rusty Nail Racing. We are camping with them, helping to get rigs ready, even help in the pits.

I just read they have closed the lakebed at KOH due to rain. Check ahead, I guess it will rain next week. If I can get ahold of a buddy out there I will update.

This is what my thoughts on it were as well.
Seen so many "AWD" vehicles stuck on Rampart/Herman.

Saw a subaru and two Range Rovers with street tires and not aired down on Metburry last week with all the snow. Got past them as quick as I could so didn't get stuck having to drag them out

I blame this partially on the dealerships. lol.

We almost pulled the trigger on a Subaru for my wife.
Entire time the salesman wouldn't shut up about how "capable" it was offroad.
"It'll handle any trail in this area, EVEN IN THE SNOW!"

We ended up buying a new Tiguan & my TJ instead. :ROFLMAO:

Our team will be there tomorrow to update us. Our first race to watch is on Sunday which is the desert race. Could make for faster times with the rain. Less sand and dust for sure.

Best of luck, you may be able to park away from the lake bed which may have standing water.

I had one years ago. The cars themselves are great, it’s the drivers. Pay attention driving around town, anytime something dumb happens, you get cut off, can’t merge, ect… it’s probably a Subaru

Having owned multiple, I can't agree that the cars are great. We will never buy another one unless something major changes and we see any Subies over 5-10 years old still on the road.

Something must have changed. I haven’t had one since the color choice was “green” or “white”. Beat the hell out of that thing.

Boxer engines are dumb. People claim they addressed the head gasket issues after like 2010 or so, but they're still problematic.

His was actually an oil pressure problem lol. Even worse.

But yeah, I haven't met a single person with a Subaru without constant problems. Hard to tell if it's build quality or just the fact that everyone thinks they're both robust off-road vehicles and racecars all at once.
