X2. I installed a Kenwood KAC-M1814 a while ago with Polk speakers all around and a powered sub. 25 on the volume is deafening.
This is what I'm running x4. Massive improvement over stock and, for me, plenty good for a metal tub with plastic roof.
Sorry to hijack your thread, but are these your ground wires? If so, why two?

The one is obviously OEM, I'm guessing the other came with the aftermarket radio, and the PO added it because the instructions said to.
So, if those RCA jacks are outputs, it looks like you may only have 2 channels out... cannot tell from Picture though.
At least the PO did the right thing, and used a factory harness adaptor rather than cutting things up!

Cris had a write up sound system upgrade a while back. It used polk speakers and a powered sub. I used his model and it sounds fantastic with more than enough volume
Thinking the same thing but shouldn't that be grounded to the chassis instead of the head unit?

Grounded to the chassis by connecting it to the OEM ground? I'm just guessing here.

The problem is the 4x6 speakers. They are just too small and can't handle the same wattage as the 5.25 speakers. I went 5.25 all around, but I'm also running an Alpine PDX-v9 and 130watt RMS speakers, and a 500watt subwoofer box. Never blew a speaker since going with the CDT's over 8 years ago, even with 100watts output per speaker from the Alpine.
