Wheel Color

The Jury is still out on the issue of Brianne of Tarth being a man or woman. Oh, I forgot it's 2024 and you can be both.
p.s. Just buy a 30x9.5x15" tire.

We live in a time where a man can be a woman, a woman can be a man, a man or a woman can be neither a man nor a woman.

When it comes to Brianne of Tarth, the question is: Would you? I know I would.

I prefer hot blondes under 6'3". That's why I don't watch the WNBA. ;)

Perfect day today to spray the 2k clear. About 60°, sunny, no wind.

I used matte clear and it softened up the copper really well.

I see all the places where I could have done more prep, but after 40 hours of my time, it is good enough for me.

I bought a set of factory steps off Evilbay. As soon as they arrive and I install them, I will decide how tall of a tire we can handle.

Sciatic nerve damage and arthritis are a bummer.

Major bummer this morning.

I was loading the wheels into the truck and bumped one of them and chipped the rim.

I had time, so I thought that I would sand it down and do a touchup.

As soon as I hit the area with 320 sandpaper, the paint started flying off. The primer adhered to the wheel, but the paint did not adhere to the primer.

I've got 30+ hours into these wheels and am not in the mood to put any more time in them now. I will put them in the attic and deal with them later.

I went online and ordered a new set of 15x8 Canyon repops.

Hoping they will be delivered by Friday so I can do the tire install Saturday.

I'm going to type real slow.

My TJ currently has a set of 18" JL wheels from the PO. Yuck.

I bought a set of Ravins that I repainted. The repaint did not go well. I do not want to put any more time in them.

Today, I went on Amazon and bought a set of Canyon repops. That should be here Fri or Sat.

I think @LONGJP2 was just clarifying which wheels you had that you painted in case you ordered the wrong item as they can get confused. I shared the pictures so they would be side-by-side to help with the same purpose. If you intentionally chose and ordered Canyons, perfect! 👌🏼 We're here to help you spend money, but just want to make sure you spend it on what you think you are spending it on and not accidentally getting the wrong thing.

As much as this sucks... better it happened now than later.

I am not sure why the paint did not adhere. I have been painting stuff for over 40 years. It may have been a bad batch on the paint. Three years ago I painted the wheels on my 67 Mustang and they still look great.

I am not aware that anyone makes a repop of the Ravine wheel, I have seen reconditioned sets for $800+. The Canyon wheel ran me $138 each with free shipping and they have excellent reviews.
