Savvy off-road sold? (the unofficial Savvy customer support and Savvy rant thread)

My son really wants the tummy tuck belly pan and engine skid but he keeps looking at the UCF stuff. We will see

I have the tummy tuck parts. Just waiting for our purple TJ friend to have the time to help install it. Oh, and me to paint the parts. Out of sight. Out of mind ya know.

They say something in the last pic for the tj/lj .....

Best reply on that post.

What's the issue with the UCF belly skids? I thought they were one of the better ones after Savvy?

Read a lot of posts on here with people liking UCF. Sure, not as good as Savvy, but if Savvy isn't available, they are a good alternative.

I have no complaints about my UCF belly skid or engine skid

Have any experience with their bumpers? I was looking at their aluminum stubby ultra high clearance front and rear bumper. I was really wanting a Savvy but we all know where that stands. After a few posts in this thread though, it might be beneficial to wait a little bit though.

The two are apples and oranges once we get past the material similarities. If one wants a Savvy bumper for it's specific design qualities, then UCF is not a viable option.

No experience with it.
Does it raise the belly as high?
Was thinking of starting a post asking for reviews but haven’t got there yet.
Looking to tummy tuck as much as possible with off the shelf products
Suggestions?

I believe, and zero first hand experience here, that folks were concerned the aluminum Genright was using was insufficient for the task...the bends they were making indicate a lower grade of aluminum.

I also recall a discussion of the ultra low skid needing a custom transmission mount and that being problematic in that it's a poly bushing.

The 97-02 manual savvy version has not been available for a long, long time so wasn't really an option to consider for me. No it doesn't raise it as high it goes below the frame rails a slight bit

Pretty smooth though. It could use countersunk bolts too but I have been lazy
