Anyone been the Auburn Duesenberg Cord Museum? I went with my granddad and father when I was a wee lad. That was the stuff of my early years.

I went there in late '81. My wife and I were moving from Washington state to upstate New York. I was driving a '56 Ford 2-door hardtop, and she was driving a '71 Dodge Demon. Anyway, I told the wife that I wanted to stop in on the way east. I still have actual photos of the visit, somewhere. It's an incredible place!

A quick update on acquiring parts for the SIL's Nissan Altima.

The parts-car for $300 sold the day I contacted the seller. Bummer, as it was even the correct color. Tried two different wrecking yards yesterday, and all the cars had either been picked clean of the parts I needed, or they had been damaged in the same area as the SIL's car, thereby rendering the parts useless. However, I hit a third wrecking yard today, and scored bigtime. Got every single part I needed for the repair all off of one very clean car. The kid at the counter originally rang everything up at $206 (helluva deal), but then said "Let me do this for ya...", and changed the price to $187.28 out the door. Wow! That's for the trunk lid with the hinges attached, the bumper cover, the bumper structure, and two tail lights. I was very satisfied with that price. After spending two hours in the rain liberating these parts, it made it all worth it. (y)

KEWL... You're a good man...

The 1954 Oldsmobile F-88 only saw 4 units built before the project was canceled, but only one car still exists today. With a 250 horsepower Rocket 88 324 V8 engine and a fiberglass lightweight exterior, this could've been a very exciting sports car. The Oldsmobile F-88 was made on a Corvette chassis. At that time, Corvette only had 6 cylinder motors so Oldsmobile used their own 324 V8 engine.

I wanna love it, but...
