Colorado Krew Hangout

washed up and ready, going to try for something around the 9th of June.

May has been too hectic and is only getting worse.

I went out last Tuesday on some trails between Deckers and Woodland Park, saw a lot of the Hayman burn area. It was pretty slippery due to mud; there were a couple tense moments off camber, but it was fun.

I’ll probably be up for another day June 9 or 10.

Running Kelly Flats Monday if anyone is interested? It's a holiday and just opened so may be a shit show but it's still better than sitting on the couch

Thankfully no. It's 4 miles south of me. Props to the pilot for the landing with what I'd call minimal damage. Hopefully the 4 people come out ok

The entry level pilot jobs are no longer 10 years Making only 18k

Youve got 25 year old making 120k

It has turned the helicopter industry upside down.

But now we have all these no experience "pilots" trying to get their hours up to get an interview.

My former Co-workers are making 32k a month and I'm sitting here, just sitting smdh

Explain?

In 2005 when I first looked into airline jobs. You would be at a regional airline for like 10 years, before you could even get an interview for a major, those captains it made $18-20k a year.

Now the First officers at those same regionals are making 120k. I've talked with Captain making 210 at Regional airlines.

Captains at Delta are making 650k a year. The international guys are making close to 1M

So it has made a huge drive in people

What happened in the helicopter side of the industry? My son-in-law has the private pilot’s license and is working on the helicopter license.

Vietnam/Gulf war era experience is retired or retiring which creates a shortage is my guess

Three Vietnam guys are retiring, so the minimums to get into EMS is around 2000 hours. So it is feasible now.

There's just no money in helicopters, they max out at around $150k career wise.

Why do that when you can make more money less work, with out near the risk
