That's why you never volunteer for shit and never admit to knowing how to do anything.
I had a 1SGT who used to mess with us. He would ask for volunteers you never knew if you were going to get a 3 day weekend, personal ZONK day, or crap detail.

I can admit that it turned out Good for once.... In basic they asked who could drive a manual & a large truck. I raised my hand...
While everyone else was doing force march I drove the chow out to them, & while everyone was pulling guard duty I was the driver dropping people off.
So yep ONCE it paid off.
