Any sure fire way to tell what year the hardtop is on my TJ?

The previous owner said it was from a different year, but he didn’t know what it came from. He didn’t install it.

Trying to figure out which wiper motor I need. It won’t pass a motor vehicle inspection here with it not working 🙄

Vents on the top will give you a clue. My 2004 has vents in the tailgate so no vent in the top. Not sure which year this changed but someone on here will jump in.
Seams like all you really need to know is hole diameter in the glass. Match it to the motor shaft size.

Vents = early style. No vents = late. I also believe a dome light was only on very early versions. Aftermarket versions exist as well. Pictures would help.

Pics I can do lol

Need to get this figured out

Where I live a newly acquired vehicle needs to pass a motor vehicle inspection before I can it registered in my name and drive it.

Garage won’t pass it unless this wiper is working 🙄

It is a snowy and cold day here today. They work inside lol.

I need to track down a used one and get it working anyhow. Not available new or aftermarket. Not that I can find anyhow.

Yeah, those are very difficult to find. I have one for an ‘05-06 but that won’t help you unfortunately. I’ll look around and see what I can find.

Disassemble it, clean all the parts, put new brushes in.

I’d love to but the nut on the outside is corroded too bad to get a socket on it. I’ve rebuilt 50 year old wiper motors before, but never seen anything so bad.

Gonna wait til I find another before I cut this one off.
