What did you do to your TJ today?

Full disclosure for those considering this rear seat.
It is great, but I’d only give it a 8 or 9/10 and here’s why.
The hoop/catch that comes with the seat, bolts to the tub using the seatbelt bolt and bracket.
That’s fine, but the new hoop interferes with the bracket placement, which means it no longer sits flat.
(Sorry, didn’t take a pic yet)

Second, they REALLY missed the opportunity to put a ‘fold-down-latch’ on both sides of the seat.
To fold it down, you must have access to the driver side.

Otherwise, this replacement seat would score 10/10.

I have considered putting a back seat in mine, but I like having a big ass trunk, and I have big boy seat brackets.

So even if I got rid of the trunk we’d have a real Lieutenant Dan situation.

I currently have big boy brackets and JKU seats.
I can barely fit my hand down to the floor with the seat all the way back.
I didn’t retract the fronts, or like you say… Lt. Dan
I don’t expect any more room for rear passengers when the new fronts arrive.

The Mrs “needs” a rear seat, so she gets a rear seat.

when the new fronts arrive.
Are you getting the matching Bestop fronts? I’m interested to know how they compare to originals.

My super low rust Jeep has the catch-22 that dry rot came for so much of the foam, rubber and plastics. So the seats are now super firm.

Also I just rebuilt the sliders in them and notice the frames are pretty warped.

I’m looking at new seats but I really want to upgrade from the Dana 35, regear, and go to 33s.

So really this all decides on what breaks first.

unless the covers are trashed, get the summit foam cushions! They're great.

And install heat while you're at it

Yes, Trailmax II’s also in Black Denim.
They’ll get heat as well

Covers are not great, but livable.

But like I said, the frames are warped. Makes the sliders bind even after replacing them. I have tried bending them back but the temper appears to have been worked out of the steel.

It’s freaking awesome the stuff Summit is making for us lately. With the Summit half door panels and the Keyparts doors, If someone made the latch/lock connecting rods we could build all new oem style half doors at this point.

Indeed. I've been watching for a ragged cheap set of doors on ebay to do just this.

Keyparts doors

I know they're only half doors, but caveat emptor. If buying fresh shells from Key, make sure you get the licensed Mopar parts (if possible). While all come from SE Asia and have quality control issues, there is a remarkable difference in material and build quality between the licensed and unlicensed parts....like thinner metal and half the number of spot welds holding the parts together.

Had a slight issue after coming home from Advance Auto yesterday.

Some J30r9 fuel hose, a fuel line connector and a couple of hose clamps got it fixed up relatively quickly.

Also used a spring from an old air hose to put around it to keep the AC lines from rubbing a hole in this one. Eventually I'll replace this whole line with a steel braided one.

I saw that. What interests me is how 97-02 Mopar licensed half door shells are meant to differ from 03-06 unlicensed.

To my knowledge the only parts that aren’t identical across the range of TJ half doors are interior door plastic colors?

EDIT: lock cylinder hole size. Okay easy enough to resolve!
