I'm 8 years younger and I KNOW it's too much for me.... But I'd sure like too try...
I've got the will and the bike but unfortunately the body isn't cooperative anymore...

My grandmother kept saying that even at 104 years old, should have listened....
For no reason other than I think they're Cool , and were pretty badass 56 years ago . XR 750 .
EDIT: Had to add a photo of a little flat track action , that's what the XR-750 was built for . But it may have been a better stunt bike .

As this was just a semi-local overnighter, I opted not to make breakfast and stopped at a Casey's before heading home.
I haven't had a gas station breakfast burrito since I retired in 2023. They aren't bad if you don't make a steady diet of 'em.
Because I picked the hottest and most humid day of the year to do this, a shower was most welcome when we got back home.

Italian ? My neighbor friend had something like this , but I don't remember much about it from 1972 -73 .

What's everybody using to seal em?
Got the dreaded spoke leak on the KTM Tuesday and after research, I think I'm going to go with high temp RTV inside on each nipple and 3M 4411 around the rim.
The stock band seems to have a pretty high failure rate and the dealer here (Sicily) says 7-10 days for delivery...7-10 days in Italian could easily be a month and more likely, the end of August when the whole island goes on vacation.
Anybody have any experience and wisdom to lend?

I had a very slow leak on my big KTM's front tire, which is center spoked tubeless. Had to have a dealer do it, and it cost me something like $300 as I recall. They had to replace the band. Crazy.
I say take a shot at your plan. May save you money and a bunch of time.
I was actually primed to get assraped by the local dealer, but I think I can do it quicker and from what I read, better.
Hoping Tecnomat (home depot equivalent) has 4411.

Sorry, the only pic I took is what it looked like when I pulled the tire.
This explains the leak.
it's also not the stock band which means the previous owner did some shit.
I guess the next owner (ifni ever sell this bike-i love it!) Will talk shit about me one day.
So, I cleaned everything up with a wire wheel, wiped well with alcohol and dabbed each spoke nipple with high temp RTV and let it cure for a day. I checked the wheel for true and round first and it was good, so no adjustments.
Couldn't get 4411, so i went with the Italian equivalent...basically high tac butyl tape.
I fouled the tape and one spoke nipple with a tire spoon during install, so i had one spoke leaking.
Pulled it and cleaned the one nipple and RTVd and retaped. Then, paid a lot more attention mounting the tire the second time.
All is good now. No leaks and the balance is way smoother.
Bike feels great up to 135.
