When I lived in Minnesota I bought a Polaris Ranger Northstar edition to use for plowing snow and moving stuff around the yard. It was a great tool for that, and a fun mild wheeling toy to boot. However, I had to trailer it 2+ hours to get to the nearest trail, so I only did that a couple of times. After about 3 years it had only 100 miles on it, clearly not getting much use for the hefty investment.
I sold it during Covid for what I paid for it and bought a 2 door JL that I could get way more utility out of and still use to plow snow with a front 2" hitch and a quick disconnect plow system. I could also drive that Jeep all the way to Moab or anywhere else and wheel it and then drive home carrying all my gear.
I still believe having a rig that you can drive to the trail, wheel and then drive home is a massive benefit over a SxS. Also, when I see people in a SxS covered in the ever present trail dust and dirt here in AZ it makes me wonder how much fun that really is. I will take a full body wheeler anytime that I have the ability to control my environment if I so choose with doors and windows.
I've since added my LJ to the mix and that gets trailered longer distances but that is just due to the lack of comfort and terrible gas mileage on the highway. I could drive it if I really wanted to and for sure between trails and around any town.

According to some sources, I have a UTV I use for snow removal. It does function very well for that task and many others. With a softer suspension, it probably would even make a decent trail rig. The 4 wheel steering is great. Wouldn't be fast though. Most useful piece of equipment I ever purchased but a new one makes that $50k RZR price look like a bargain basement price-about $85k with no options.

You can’t mess around when you have big snow to clear. I started with an ATV but froze my butt off. Moved up to the Ranger Northstar which was very nice. Then I ended up with my dad’s John Deere 3046 with enclosed cab and a snow auger, that was the bomb!
