Looking for opinions on fuel cans?

Remember my dad filling a glass bottle for the lawnmower. Don’t think he ever tossed it while it was burning 
Utility jugs are what you're looking for, they hold all the same liquids. For the same amount of time. No difference in quality

I bought the green ones in 1999. The jugs themselves are solid and roto molded. The caps fell apart a few yrs back and I can’t find replacements. The others are blow molded and at least 10 yrs old. The spouts get hard over time but the tubing is easy to replace. I built a rack for my teardrop to hold 2 and on long camping trips in the Mojave where fuel can be 50 miles away I brig 3-4 in the LJ also.
Wavian. Just like the original Jerry can. And they make half size too.

I have those. Have taken some abuse. Lay on their side, no leaks, no smells.

This works well. You can find the Armadillo as well. It’s 2-3 gallons but easy to roll up and store when done.

The gas pumps have a sticker stating approved containers only. What makes a container approved or not approved? Can’t be too important when the fellow on the other side is smoking a cigarette while the gas fumes are floating around

Or filling plastic containers without taking them out of the truck bed, or re-entering and exiting the vehicle while fueling which are the leading causes of gasoline re-fueling fires.
Most of the public is ignorant of this though, but they won't dare use their cell phone while fueling and there are no documented cases of a cell phone ever starting a fire while fueling.
