Was at it again today welded the engine frame mounts on today got them level and 5 degrees of tilt towards the back. Also removed the rollbar out of the donor to fit up the TC floor plate repair kit.

Folded the windshield down for the first time. Checked the bottom seal for condition. Cleaned it and buttoned things up.
Thanks, you never see the windshield foiled down on a Jeep. It's silly it was ever designed in the first place.
I actually wheeled often with the windshield removed from my cj5.
Swapped out the remaining 2in junny joints for OG johnny joints. The manufacturer made it good but that doesn't account for wrench time to change them multiple times. You get what you pay for. These use JJ guts so I'll keep them as spares and rebuild them at some point. The biggest issue is they didn't use grade 8 washers on either side of the busing so when you flex them out it bends the washers then pukes out the snap ring so they come apart. Some of these didn't last one wheeling trip before they blew up. While I was under the front I checked my caster, it was sitting about 4.4 deg. So while I was adjusting that I decided to push the front out. Moved the LCAs out to 17 in and set the uppers to 16.25. Caster measured 5.8 deg. drivers side and 6.1 deg passenger side. Checked the clearance between the diff and track bar, it was good. Took it for a test drive and return to center was improved as well as tracking on the road. Hit the interstate and no vibes all the way to 80 mph.

Another step in defunkafying my new to me ‘04 LJ. Scraped off the horrid bubbly window tint film. My last TJ also had tint film in horrible shape. Does any of this stuff last more than a few years without looking horrid?

My CJ-5, CJ-7's and my CJ-8 all wheeled windshield down several times.
Watch any of the Stan Fuller vids on yt and those flat fenders are almost always wheeling windshield folded except for inclement weather.
My CJ2A and my TJ's are the only Jeeps I haven't had the windshield down on.
Night ride to Academy Sports for a couple of boat plugs. Paid 14.99, crazy.
I had 3M tint professionally applied to my LJ in '08 that, aside from damage of my own doing, has held up great.
That stuff looked really nice and worked great in the Las Vegas heat.
