Are tubs interchangeable?

I have a 2003 Rubicon with with manual transmission. Looking to swap out the tub as the floor is all rotten. Obviously not much changed from 97-06 but will any of these years just bolt on. Also does it matter if the donor jeep is auto or a 4 cylinder?

There are two versions of the TJ tub, early model '97-'02 (EM) and late model '03-'06 (LM). There are some minor differences between them. The EM has no provision for the LM evap system in the passenger rear corner. The EM also has a cutout for the heater blower motor that was deleted on the LMs. That would be easily filled if needed though. There are a few other things as well but nothing that couldn't be overcome. You would need to transfer all your interior parts over. The sport cage is slightly different. The good news is all the body and fender mounts are the same.
 
I'm not 100% sure an earlier frame will clear the larger 241 transfer case not he Rubicon models, as I thought they had a slightly larger tunnel (along with a lower transfer case skid). I could be wrong about this, maybe it was just the transfer case skid that was lower on the 03-06 models to compensate for the larger (and therefore lower hanging) 241 transfer case. Hopefully someone more knowledgable on the matter will chime in.

bumping this thread instead of starting a new one. I have an option to purchase a 2002 tub to put on my 2005. I am finding it hard to find info about the differences with the firewall holes

The major difference are the blower motor/hvac assembly cutouts that are not interchangeable.
