Well after 7 years riding on the 33x12.5s along with 1.25” spidertrax spacers I wasn’t digging the look.

I stumbled on a brand new set of BFG KO3s in 33x10.5x15 at over half off.. now that I got them home lol, I’m undecided do I mount these with my 1.25” spidertrax or remove the spacers. I have a LJ and my flares are the OEM wider ones. I removed one of the spacers from the rear and the tire clears the perch and I’m running these in Ravine wheels.

What’s your verdicts.. can’t make my mind up.. 🤦‍♂️

Just do it. I too have an LJ with Ravines and 33x10.50s, no spacers. They fit fine, no rubbing at the rear, and only a little rubbing when turned sharply. A washer under the turn stops took care of that.

And where can the rest of us get half off? :unsure: :love:

Do what? Install without spacers? You got a photo of yours / showing the side how they sit under the flares?

lol.. I was super sceptical.. I checked the dates codes etc. from this year, all legit. Was still sceptical until the garage called and said my time and tires are ready for pickup once they were mounted.. 🤣

You can run them without spacers, but your turning radius will increase a bit.

I tried to go from 35x12.5/15s to 33x10.5 in the past and reduced from a 4" SL and 1"BL to 2.5" springs and 1" BL to see if I preferred the handling and maybe better gas mileage.

I didn't experience either and ending up going back to 35s and 4" springs.

Your experience may well be different, so I say go for it. Try it without spacers to see if you like the ride and look. You can easily add the spacers back if you decide.

The pics look good, and you'll enjoy not having mud on your body panels whenever you hit a puddle.
 
I had and enjoyed 33x10.5R15 BFGs on Canyon 8x15 on my from-new 2000 TJ until switching up to 33x12.5R15 GY MT/R on M/T 8x15 Alcoas around 2003 IIRC. I still prefer the "pizza cutter" look and functionality and likely would have purchased those for my current 2005 TJ if the wheels (shown in profile) had sufficiently reduced offset not to look goofy. I liked the "overlanding" look then and now...

Mine is the exact same combination as you described. They work well for what I do. Your TJ looks great.

While mine are only 31x10.50....with no lift, factory Ravine wheels and no spacers, a 10.50" wide KO2 will sit pretty much vertically flush with a factory Rubicon flare. I suspect @OldBuzzard's 33x10.50 KO2s are likely vertically flush with his Rubi flares...which is a clean look, I think.

I think I will have to leave one side with spacers and the other without and then park the Jeep on the road and see what I like more.. lol

I think that size is still available in the TAKM3. It was available when I looked last year.

I wish they made the TAKO series in that size, but they never have. The 285/75R16 has been fine, but the lighter narrower tire has advantages including on road in the type of snow we tend to see.
