What did you do to your TJ today?

Thank you. That makes sense. I bent one of my stock shafts in 2024 and thought I would be bougie and spring for chromoly. I am finally at the stage in life where I can splurge on my projects every now and then. I will try and keep you guys updated so that others can learn from this experience.
Odd. They offer 1541H axles for other options, but it looks like they only offer 4140 (chromoly) axles for the Dana 35, which isn’t good. However, you still haven’t confirmed what axle you have. If you don’t know, post a picture of the diff cover straight on from below the rear bumper.

A few days ago...
I got to check into the brake issue. Changed the suspected brake hose that was making the left front drag...still dragging, replaced the caliper, all is well. Went ahead and replaced the hose on the other side since I already had it.
Also, I went from this

to see how the temp gauge responded at speeds 60 and over.
It liked it.
That morning I had went on an errand, and the return trip I used my new OBD dongle to watch the temp readings, and was a little shocked. The gauge on the dash registered just above 210 (I would've guessed it was reading 215-220) but the reading from the OBD was registering 240.
After removing the winch, I never saw the OBD go over 220 on a 30 minute run of 60 mph with hills.
And yes, my cooling system is in good shape. I'm sure the winch was just covering up too much grill (over half) to have good air flow at speed.
I did not eat or drink while doing that, only sweated, but here is a pic of my current breakfast...

Yes it was, never could get it cleaned out all the way.

I'm with you, carpet has no place in a Jeep, or a truck neither. But they came that way from the factory, unfortunately.
I have to believe the designers didn't add carpet until marketing flexed their muscle.

I will be in the future installing the Armorlite flooring, its thick vinyl with backing and inserts for the drain plugs, so it can be washed out.

I don't think he liked me. Might have had something to do with the number of times he had to come into town at 0200 to get me from the jail and take me to the hospital for stitches. Seriously, I never started the bar fights!
If that's the case, then, yes, you need to go with 1541H (from another manufacturer) when you replace those axles to ensure you don't have premature wheel bearing issues.
Oh man, the anti-carpet dudes are out in force today! I personally would never run my rig without carpet. Helps keep the heat out.

I am not anti carpet but I did pull my carpet and rhino lined the floors then added back bedrugs to keep the floor heat in check. They pop out and wash down easy. I too have a phone mount and touch screen head unit, I feel @Zorba doing eye rolls as we speak.
