You are in one of the best locations in the country for selling a Jeep.

The body damage will be the biggest hang up for a main stream Jeeper. But there are folks who would love to get a rig to learn to wheel in or push the limits in without worrying about needing to fix every little scratch and dent.

IMO, that’s the target buyer you are likely looking for. Good news is that we will be entering nicer weather soon, so eyes will be on Jeep listings.

I’d put a FB ad up in your area. I can list it for you in Tucson as well (and send interested folks your way).

That said, if you can’t get enough for it to solve your potential problem, then I would consider not selling it if it’s only a drop in the bucket. Just something for you to ponder since you know the finer details.

I have wheeled with Garrett on the trails he likes to run in AZ and he would be much better off with a buggy. I (as well as many others) have been way impressed with what he did on a TJ width and wheelbase on 35s. But there is a point where you just need to make that next step and he is there.

I wish you luck on the sale and getting through this current situation. AND I look forward to hopefully wheeling with you on some buggy lines in the future!

It is hard to remember that it’s just a jeep sometimes when you’ve spent so much time building it and wheeling it. I’m still undecided on it, but weighing my options. Over the weekend we met with some family and came up with some solutions that make me feel a little better.

My wife is looking at potentially switching career options and is applying for jobs which could help us out tremendously. Fingers crossed something works out for her.

Life is very much in flux right now for both of us. I’ve been running my pole vault club, same as always, as well as training dogs on the side. I just randomly got offered the job as the pole vault coach at ASU and so I’m currently working out the details on that. Compliance is still evaluating everything that needs to be done in order for me to run my high school club and coach at ASU at the same time to avoid any recruiting violations. Sounds like the way things are going to play out is that my pay will suck this year, but will bump up tremendously after this season. All that to say, there are some good potential solutions on the horizon, but the uncertainty is uncomfortable for sure.

That is a great potential with a D1 coaching opportunity! I hope you can figure out how to tough it out for a year. It seems daunting now, but a year really isn't that long. Pulling for you and your wife, Garret!

For sure. It’s a pretty cool opportunity that I’m really excited about. Not many people get to go straight to a paid coaching position at a power 4 school. Hopefully compliance comes through with the green light. I should find out tomorrow.

This alone doesn’t solve it immediately, but it certainly helps. With the coaching job, I won’t get paid very well this season, but next season I will get a substantial raise that will help a lot.

But, I do have more good news. My wife left a well paying job 3 years ago to start her business. Her business has been too slow to keep going with that, unfortunately. The good news is her old boss just offered her old job back to her and she can start immediately, with a higher pay than when she left, and it will be all remote this time which means she can keep some aspects of her own business running as well. It’s honestly unbelievable how quickly two perfect solutions fell into each of our laps. I was prepping to weather a massive storm that now should only be a minor nuisance.
