What did you do to your TJ today?

When Ben’s almost new shaft from Woods was without its plastic “cup” for the centering ball the driveshaft was removed and tested at a driveline shop in Va Beach and they didn’t find the issue. The only way we could “see” the issue was ; rear axle on jackstands and in gear. Climb under and that thud was so obvious it was unbelievable.
Holding the driveshaft in your hand and ya couldn’t tell there was an issue.
Shawn fixed it for free and back on the road was the Jeep.

Note , it was a DC shaft not slip yoke if that matters

Thats exactly what my dad and I did last night, jacked up the rear axle and put it in gear. It was way less noticeable since the weight of the vehicle was off of it. Noticed the driver rear tire did not have nice concentric rotation, and that’s when I noticed the loose lug nuts.

New rear UCA's came in. Hopefully I can install them this Saturday.

Just did the same job, but the thermostat fell out of position so I had to loosen and realign. In the dark in the rain might I add 😂

Had a feeling the PO removed it, turns out it decided to delete itself.

Drilled a tiny at the out part of the flange after test fitting+picture , installed @ 12’o clock. Done three heat cycles now ( cap off+ idle) , still had some air coming out, so i guess its doing its job. Did not know the thermostat clicks when opening, almost took it back apart 🤣💪🏼

Finally took the hardtop off for the first time ever, I believe (the small support brackets were still in the rollbar which wouldn't be there if someone put on a soft top). I picked this up 2+ years ago after someone totaled my '05. I've spent more time under it than it to make it an everyday driver. The list is massive (CAs, Track Bars, Wheel Bearings, Radiator, Heater Core, Water Pump, Thermostat, Brake and Transmission cooler lines, etc. etc.) Enjoyed every minute of doing it myself, short of the motor mounts which I had a mechanic I work with a lot do those. What a pain to install a brand new Bestop, still stretching itself out a bit. I used to swap out my hardtop and soft top all the time on my '05. Not sure I'll do that again with this one. I loved my '05 but appreciate this one more because I've had to do a lot more to it to make it drivable. This was supposed to be for my wife to use because she loved the '05, but nervous to drive this one so she's driving the M3 sitting next to it. Win-Win for me!
