This little guy is a win. Well, I guess we'll see how it does in the woods, but on first power up it is super easy to use. Comes programmed for all the GMRS channels as well as the NOAA weather channels. Doesn't have MURS programmed in, but that's an easy fix since there are like 200 memory channels. Also was a little surprised at how small it was (TWSS), but I don't guess it needs to be enormous to do the job (TWHSTH). I'm fully prepared to call this a $79 win. Sad Hams don't @ me.

I wish more of these radios supported alpha tags. I'd like to grab one or two, but i program too many extra channels to try to keep them straight. The alpha tags make it easy. For now, I guess I'll stick to my Kenwood mobiles and Tidradio handhelds.

Internet was down all weekend so I moved a wintertime project up to yesterday, pulled this stump that was irritating the shit out of me for the past two years, not only an eyesore but I was tired of cutting around it on the tractor.

After whacking at it with the axe & a couple strategic chainsaw cuts, I pulled it out with the street tractor. I couldn't find my trailer hitch D-Ring contraption so I had to improvise a bit, it was a nice clean pull

extra channels, like other than the standard frequency defined channels for GMRS/MURS/etc?

Multiple repeaters, a couple different channels I run with "privacy codes" for my friend group for various scenarios, and in the case of my multiband radios, fire, law, EMS channels.

I like being able to look at the radio and being able to see I'm on GMRS 17, "North Repeater", "Trail 1" or "SLED" without having to memorize the frequency, channel number, or refer to a list. It's especially helpful when someone else is using my radio so that it's clear which frequency/channel is being used.

Having reinstalled my refinished hardtop just under a year ago, I decided maybe it was about time to finish installing the rear glass hardware and interior plastic covers. I was trying to hunt down the correct rear glass before doing the final installation, but that has proven tougher than expected. After cleaning up the plastic motor and header covers, I decided to install the glass struts and immediately noticed one of the mounts (glass side) was bent. So much for that task. Ordered up two new mounts and I'm considering going for some new hinges while I'm at it. Given the unplanned pause and inbound new parts, I managed to find a few leads on the glass, so that might be happening after all. The coming week should bring some answers.

I had the LJ parked in visitor parking away from my building, so made a few walks to it while doing the aforementioned. While approaching it, I noticed a small wet spot on the ground in the general area of the passenger footwell. It had rained the night before, so initially I wrote this off to either water draining from the footwell drain or coolant dripping from the hvac drain due to a leaking heater core (I had just driven the vehicle within the past hour). But a bit later I notice the spot was still freshly wet, so crawled under for a look. Seems my cowl drain was completely backed up again and I had standing water in the drain that was slowly leaking out, running down a pinchweld on the tub and dripping elsewhere. Ended up with a good man handful of this shit...

It seems like the rubber duckbill POS at the end of the drain is the reason things are getting backed up. No worries as mine was split up both sides and took a good poke when I was douching things. Strange that the thing was split up the sides and still didn't release the debris. I'm trying to reckon why I need this on the drain, thinking I might go without.

Well, I verified a suspicion I've had for a month or two now. Hooked a fuel pressure gauge up and had 0psi with the Jeep off. Running showed 49psi. On shutdown, the pressure immediately dropped to zero. 😐

I remember seeing people say you can replace the check valve by itself without replacing the whole pump, but I've never done that. Any info on this? Link to the right check valve?

I have a Delphi pump that has been otherwise flawless. This is the 2nd or 3rd one that's been installed on this jeep, but the first two were replaced due to a sloppy install at the shop on the first one (I tried to tell him he was doing it wrong...) and a manufacturing defect on the 2nd one that we didn't catch upon install.

I hate to have to drop the tank again, but I kind of need to repaint the gas tank skid anyway. I just don't want to have to do this all the time. I'll just prime the system before cranking until i decide on a solution or get up the motivation to work on it.

One of my 8 year old Chinese driving lights quit working this morning. I figured there was no way that all of the LED lights burned out at the same time. Nope, damn mice again! I rewired them and sprayed everything with rodent repellent. I was too pissed off to get a pic, so I did the @Kiwi TJ thing. ;)
Mac & Cheese with tuna fish, on top of ground turkey. Black truffle hot sauce on top. Gently folded on a tortilla. My wife looked like she was going to get sick watching me eat it. I bet @John Cooper would approve.😜

Adjusted my rear pinion angle from +1⁰ to -1⁰ for the driveshaft, put the winch and fairlead bracket (thanks Harbor Freight!) onto the bumper, and now have found that the bumper interferes with the stock sway ar bushings 🙄
